So, about 13% of the total death count the scientists said we are going to get. That Trump sure knows how to drag something out.

Yeah but this took us 6 months.

We're gonna hit the next 200K in 90 days.

Buckle up and stay the fark home.

I'm no mortality statistician but I'm sure the actual figure will be at least 230k around election day and that's low balling it. Especially considering the numbers of the CDC are now being actively fudged with to conform with Dumpster's take that it's all over. Facts and data matter mofo

" March 31 (UPI) "

So are we supposed to check that off, and say 'OK, Next!"

The GOP loves killing people. This is their bread and butter.  Especially if they're immigrants or people of color.  A vote for the GOP is a vote for mass murder, eugenics and genocide. Hitler would be especially proud of Trump and his enablers today.

I don't think even 750K in Deaths would mobilize enough of America to make a difference in our leadership.
Hell, I don't even think pitch forks and aR15 mobs at the gates would do crap.
I think America is ready and willing to let a million people die. And 10 million get sick to different degrees.

yeah, He said that we had 15 cases and soon would have none. Still waiting for THAT to happen.

Trump warned Americans to brace for a difficult period. "I want every American to be prepared for the hard days that lie ahead. We're going to go through a very tough two weeks," he said.-FTFA, dated March 31

Dang it, and we're only two weeks away from donnie's new health plan!

I, unfortunately, work at a pharmacy.  I'm so used to wiping down the counter and keypad between customers that I don't even think about it.

And holy crap, there are a LOT of people coming in for flu shots, sometimes also getting TDap/Shingrix/pneumonia shots.  We'll need a replenishment of old fart flu shots in the next week or so.

Between the numbskulls at Trump rallies and college football season, I think we can blow past 300,000 in no time. Can I get odds on this at Draft Kings?

In other news, president Truman is apparently working on some sort of humongous bomb that will stop Hirohito's armies once and for all.

So, we're done, right?  Pandemic is over.  Oh Donny Boy saved us all.

I mean 200K with mitigations was considered to be on the pessimistic side, so surely, under trumps expert guidance, we can't go much higher than 200k

At my shop in Wisconsistan, basically the only one on second shift that bothers keeping some sort of face covering on when out in public. Most of the other 8-10 people begrudgingly wear a buff or something on the plant itself, but I haven't seen any of them wear anything when they go to the gas station before work or on break. Got a feeling we're gonna have a little problem here in a month or three, but hey... more OT for me is a win in my book.

So 2.8 million have it right now bare minimum. So already, you can add another 100 000+ dead.

You can probably add up to 50% more to those numbers.

My thoughts exactly. Stopped at a packed bar out in the country the other day to use the bathroom during the packer game. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and i saw exactly  zero people wearing masks or social distancing. Life as usual. Average People have realized that the world isnt ending and are losing interest in being continually told to be scared of a mostly benign virus.

Good job everybody. We hit the high score.

Now we can cash out and wear our masks.

Wow. 2 million diagnosed people just doing their regular whatever is a staggering amount. I'm not sure how you can ascertain whether someone has truly recovered or no longer infectious though

The numbers have been "fudged" (probably unintentionally in many cases by the reporting agencies).  The NYT had a good article and there are some articles in preprint that also show that the true death rate is much higher than is being reported.

I've said this since probably May/June, it's obvious if you just download the CDC numbers. Anyone can do it. Few people bother to do it.

But some of those people had other conditions like asthma or diabetes, therefore they died of something else, and a couple of counties made mistakes in their reports, so the actual death toll is about a hundred or so and Biden killed those people with lawn furniture.  You just have to unskew the numbers. I am very intelligent.
