Is subby saying that he isn't appreciative that the long international nightmare of war between Israel and the UAE is over.

I mean who can forget that death toll of zero from all those years of conflict.

Well of course they are.  That's where the grift money is.  After all, I believe it was the great American poet Megadeth who wrote, "Peace sells ... but who's buying?"

For whatever reason -- and I know this is giving these people too much credit -- this reminded me of a Kojima plot.  So here's the Snakeeater intro cinematic to make your lives better, farkers.

I prefer to think of them not as arms, but your own Space Force Starter Kit, with the weaponized box checked.  If there's any push back, just run some old Buck Rogers serials on the national tv channel.

He thinks he is being clever by selling arms to other countries?

Which of course only makes money for private arms dealers not the actual US government.

You know the thing he recently attacked US generals for doing which makes no sense because they don't make money from private arms sells.

Subby, you moron. Don't you know that the most important political problem to solve in the world, right this very moment, is ...  **check notes** ... the conflict between Bahrain and Israel? Wait, that can't be right. BRB, gotta check my talking points.

now we have the international shiat going on. drugs/arms/human slaves.

ameet14: I wonder if he's building up to a peace deal between Israel and Saudi Arabia as an October Surprise.

KSA is undoubtedly working towards that - the normalization deals and a speech by a prominent Saudi cleric urging his followers to "treat Jews well" are clearly efforts to gauge public reaction to the intended direction - but October's probably too soon. It's still a huge leap from Bahrain and UAE, to the country that's the guardian of the Two Mosques, as far as public perception of 'sudden' embrace of a people they've been taught for ages is their enemy.

The most important point is that he is selling American assets and is going to receive direct personal compensation. This is not going into the US treasury. He's liquidating America for his self-benefit

Doesn't congress have to authorize weapons sales? Trump can't sell arms without something passed by them, right?

The Taliban formed 5 years after the Soviets left Afghanistan, but your point does stand.

It's pretty funny that facts like "We've been selling arms to Bahrain for a long time" and "We've been bribing countries in the name of coalition-building for decades" go right down the memory hole when Fark needs a good outrage to froth about.

Or it could be that 150 years of American christian dominionism could be trying to fulfill it's own terrible understanding of a "prophecy".

The author is a Palestinian and a huge supporter of the Palestinian cause. I can see why she's upset.

However, one can be sympathetic to the Palestinian cause and still consider this deal a Good Thing (TM). There was no good reason for these two (actually three) countries to not recognize each other, and not have diplomatic relations.

It wasn't doing anything to advance the Palestinian cause, that's for sure. If you thought lack of diplomatic recognition would have helped, you would have pushed for the US, UK and the rest of the world to stop recognizing Israel. But almost nobody did, so developing a grudge against the UAE or Bahrain for recognizing Israel would be hypocritical.

The Palestinian issue will not be solved by this generation of leaders. Too much bad blood, too many conflicts, too many bad memories. Obama knew this, which is why he skipped his Knesset speech and instead chose to address a bunch of university students.
