Just a handy reminder:
Scott Atlas isn't an infectious disease expert or an epidemiologist. He's a Radiologist with hard right ideology and diarrhea of the mouth.

We know fark-all about the long-term effects of this virus, but don't worry, Team Trump will make sure surviving it is a pre-existing condition your employer's insurance can cite to deny you coverage. What, do you want the CEO's fourth yacht to only have 12-karat hand-painted gold leaf instead of 20?

If it's not bad to catch COVID-19, give it to trump, Pence, Moscow Mitch, and Kevin McCarthy and tell us how they're doing in a month.

It really has become the defining aspect of modern day 'conservatives'. Have opinion or idea first, ignore any facts that go against idea or find disingenuous or misleading facts to support idea. Have no concern what so ever whether idea or opinion is valid so long as your 'feeling' on the matter supports it.

Children have the same irrational behavior. Maybe someday society will treat these Republicans for what they are...children.

It's six months since I was infected. Yesterday I smelled burning plastic for most of the day. Today, things smell like rancid risotto.

My lungs ached to the point I could tell you their shape. This past Labor Day weekend, I had tons of things to do; didn't do a damn thing as I was so tired, I spend one day entirely in bed.

So, FU you randian asshole.

Listening to Rump or anyone stuck in his fecal matter will get you killed.

You were put on this earth for no other reason than to suffer for your richer, wealthier, betters. The sooner you accept that you are less than, and acknowledge your place is beneath the boot heel, the sooner we can all move forward to go back to making us wealthier, and inflicting a new kind of suffering.

He had to find a grift like now. Radiologists will be the first medical field phased out by computers. Maybe even before the self driving trucks phase out truckers. This guy can compare your image to a couple more placed next to it. A computer can run millions of comparisons against any past images taken of you, and similar patients, and detect every shade and color variation better than a human. A single doctor signing off on dozens of diagnosis made by software will do the work of dozens of radiologists. If you are not gonna be that guy, you'll need a new job.

Uh no, that's not the case whatsoever.  We KNOW there are long term effects.  You know, like persistent myocarditis MONTHS after recovery in otherwise healthy students who were asymptomatic or only had mild primary symptoms during their infection.

The correct answer is "the more we learn about covid-19, the more we should be scared of it, especially long-term".

Yeah but my aunt on Facebook shared a meme that showed how the real death rate was 2% and then she died of pneumonia after going to Sturgis. I assume it was pneumonia, she refused to be tested for anything because that's when the government chips you.

Anyway, where was I? Right, so Trump 2020!

"school closures and lockdowns have reduced teenage exposure to all sorts of infectious disease"

Did the Atlantic forget what high school is like?  The only kids teenagers are staying within 6 feet of for more than a few seconds.....are the same ones they're hanging out with outside of school already.

(not to mention, you should really cite evidence Atlantic instead of pretending your opinion is fact)

Lie in bold. The "kill millions" number was if nothing is done at all, and was a reference point to encourage decisive action.

It was memorably pathetic-hilarious the last time the whole "it gives 2/3 of its victims myocarditis for months" came up in a thread, one of the denialist liars actually claimed "b b buh it's also a listed rare symptom of the flu!"

As if the flu routinely causes heart damage.
