Man, look at that shoreline.

I know, I am kind of splitting hairs, but it's not like he drove it into Tampa Bay or the estuary between Clearwater and Clearwater Beach.

/Doesn't fecking live around there?

Apparently not, but you can drive your Chevy to the levee if the levee is dry.

Can you afford a Ford to ford?

And in an unrelated note, a Chrysler Crossfire is not a good getaway car, especially if you get into a shootout with police.

The preview function could have a third option, "Check for Similar". This could scan the thread and come back with "Duplicate".

You could still post (complete with cheeky comment), rewrite, or just abandon it...

FTA: "Authorities in Florida said a pickup truck had to be fished out of the retention pond outside a courthouse when the driver's boot became stuck on the accelerator while attempting to park."

Um, how does a boot become stuck on an accelerator?

You never ford the river.

Got away with doing it once when it was like 6 inches deep, with only the message "it was a muddy crossing, but you did not get stuck."

/Just recently realized that almost everyplace with "ford" in its name was once a place where people forded a river in olden times.
//Including one really close to me.

Dodo David: Um, how does a boot become stuck on an accelerator?

There are people that voluntarily wear cowboy boots outside of a farm/ranch and not as a Halloween costume.
I still can't figure out why.

The article doesn't say what kind of boots, though. I'm guessing these were the construction worker sort.

If his foot was on the accelerator at an angle, the toe of his boot couldhave become wedged under the brake pedal or lever. It's one reason to think twice about what footwear you're wearing while driving.

THIS^^

Something similar happened to me when I was learning to drive. Foot slipped off the brake and floored the gas pedal and I sideswiped the barrier between the garage doors. I was able to put my left foot on the brake before I hit the wall. I was wearing some type of boot, thankfully my dad didn't kill me.

A guy I knew in high school ridiculously farked up the carwash he was working for doing something similar while driving the car into the wash. He blamed it on the floor mat getting tangled in the pedals.
