Well, Giannis looks fine, but the Heat just seem to clearly be the better team.

2020-09-06 4:18:09 PM
Well, he almost got 'em tied before he died...

Maybe I'm reading this in, but the Bucks seem demoralized

I dunno, the Bucks look a lot better with Giannis out.

Yeah, they actually do.  I felt at the beginning of the game they just didn't look like they had the fight of a team in an elimination game

2020-09-06 4:40:37 PM
It seems like the Heat were all coached up for when Giannis was in, and when he's out they aren't sure what to do.

2020-09-06 4:44:07 PM
Well, Giannis is out.

At least they were down 3-0 and losing when he got hurt so it's hard to really say that this injury affected the postseason in any way.

Giannis and Djoker eliminated the same day.  Pretty lousy day to be a European athlete in the US

alltogether

They maybe should've been playing without Giannis to begin with :)

I keep waiting for DiVencenzo (sp?) to break out.  When I play them on 2k20, the little son of a biatch is like Michael Jordan

I mean, he defaulted to a Spaniard, so it evens out.

But also, lol no Grand Slam in an event where Nadal and Federer aren't competing for you, Djoker. Nice try.

Sorry, watching this and the WNBA game on Twitter 'cause I like the Wings.

Don't feel bad, I'm watching while looking after a very talkative Naido Jr.  Has anything been said about Giannis' potential availability for a (potential, again) Game 5?

Caught commentator talking about it 3 seconds after I posted this.  They don't know

2020-09-06 5:56:13 PM
Don't think that ball hit Lopez

2020-09-06 5:59:26 PM
Herro is going to be a stud.  I'd consider something like Middleton-level to be his floor.

But I'm biased toward Kentucky guys :)

Another bad call gets the Bucks to OT, but no makeup for the Heat means it stays for OT.

It looks like he grazes forearm on this, which is enough for a foul, even if it's not why the call was initially made.

2020-09-06 6:18:39 PM
And the Wings won in OT.

Crazy sports day.

Naido: Don't think that ball hit Lopez

Nah, but Van Gundy is right that the current setup means you should call fouls instead of just calling it the team who didn't foul's ball. Because "correcting" the call makes it MORE wrong than the original incorrect call.

2020-09-06 6:21:23 PM
How did that hurt Crowder's ankle? His foot wasn't even planted.

2020-09-06 6:22:28 PM
Eh, I hate that the refs got them the game, but I suppose it's funnier that the Bucks win the game Giannis had to leave early.

2020-09-06 6:23:29 PM
Khris Middleton is the most 45-year old looking 29-year old ever.

Yeah.  And there's, at least for one day, no conversation about Middleton not showing up.  He's made a lot of great plays, hit some huge shots

2020-09-06 6:25:15 PM
He looks 30 years older than Tyler Herro.

2020-09-06 6:26:58 PM
Not dead just yet.

2020-09-06 6:29:20 PM
Who knows what happens next.  The lack of home court makes win streaks a lot more likely, I think

JerseyTim: He looks 30 years older than Tyler Herro.

I never noticed it but he really does.  Made me look it up: he's 29.  Maybe he'll get lucky and also look 45 when he's 60

2020-09-06 8:44:57 PM
Lakers are gonna lose.

Can't win without LeBron driving, and he's just being passive AF.

2020-09-06 8:46:24 PM
PJ Tucker for MVP

2020-09-06 8:48:43 PM
So far around Westbrook...they called a travel that should've been a jump ball. They called a foul that wasn't a foul. And they called it out off him when he didn't touch it. Wrong in every way possible.

2020-09-06 8:56:10 PM
Lol @ Harden calling for a review on that.

/BTW, that play is why I never flop
//or willingly go to the floor for any goddamn thing
//Hit his head on the floor, lucky to avoid a knee to the head

2020-09-06 8:59:41 PM
Well, AD came to play.

2020-09-06 9:00:33 PM
AD 11, Everyone else on both teams 11.

Did you read the Ringer link, earlier this week, about sh*thousery?  It was centered on Chris Paul, but Harden was featured prominently as well.

2020-09-06 9:09:53 PM
Well, um...if Markieff Morris is gonna score 3 points per minute, the Lakers will win.

That crap is the biggest reason why people hate watching the Rockets; Paul and Harden together?  Ugh.

Now you've got Harden together with Westbrook's often insane shot selection.  But I have to say, he really has been a lot better about his selection since he joined them, when I've seen them play anyway

I love love love zone defenses in the NBA, glad it's happening more.  It's one of the extra strategy wrinkles that I used to like about college ball.  The NBA has been a little too much of a one on one league for my tastes, at times

2020-09-06 9:24:42 PM
I want to like Harden 'cause he's an ASU guy and my dad was an ASU guy so I grew up rooting for them...but nah, f*ck his brand of "basketball".

2020-09-06 9:25:43 PM
Ah, good, Vogel saw the same thing I did, notably: why the f*ck are they playing with no AD AND no LeBron?

IAmRight: I want to like Harden 'cause he's an ASU guy and my dad was an ASU guy so I grew up rooting for them...but nah, f*ck his brand of "basketball".

Man, I appreciate, in theory, that he will use any edge to try to win.  In practice, I can't stand him when he does it.  I mentioned the 'sh*thousery' article.  Prior to that article, I was unfamiliar with the term, but the term is perfect for the crap that Harden and Paul engage in.

It was hilarious watching Paul claim that he called timeout before the foul at the end of Game 7.  You see the replay, and he kind of *did*; but no one believed him because he would try to pull that shiat regardless.  Was nice to see The Boy Who Cried Wolf played out on him, he deserves it

2020-09-06 10:15:08 PM
Those Laker collars are starting to get a little tight.

2020-09-06 10:20:22 PM
If the Lakers blow this one . . . well, you have to question your own manhood at that point

2020-09-06 10:40:57 PM
Kinda wild how good Bubble Basketball is.

OTOH as someone rooting for the Lakers, OKC would've been a free pass to the conference finals, so I kinda wish Paul had gotten away with something there.

JerseyTim: Kinda wild how good Bubble Basketball is.

Absolutely.  A lot more close games, less predictable (generally tied to home court) outcomes.  I love it.

And I'm loving AD tonight.  My favorite thing is when he decides it's his job to guard Harden.  Great stuff

2020-09-06 10:58:19 PM
It's unfair that AD moves that well at that size.

A lot of women have said the same thing about me.

/to someone, somewhere, I'm sure of it

Just occurs to me how rare it is to see Lebron look like he's genuinely having fun

2020-09-06 11:13:23 PM
I'm glad the LeBatard show finally brought it up, but I'm hoping they just round off the 3-point line and don't expand the floor. No more corner 3s. Makes the 3-point line easier to defend and forces people to play men's basketball, not boys' basketball.

Alternately, threes only count as twos after 30 attempts or something like that. 'Cause the Rockets' bullsh*t of 53 3s needs to go the f*ck away.
