I was assuming it's because it makes liberals cry or whatever that slogan is. It's the same reason for half the shiat they pull. They don't seem to need a better justification.

Again, somebody get Steven Miller out of there. He seems to be the only one to pull off influencing Trump from the original set of stooges outside his family and Jared. It is just that with "What would a Nazi like to change about the US today?" instead of grift or outright power grabbing he hasn't stepped on the family's toes at all, so he is very unlikely to be fired. Yes, Trump is racist, but he doesn't go out of his way to raise the suffering since it would take effort and competence to do.

Once again the President does the right thing! It's all this thinking and talking about racism that causes racism. If we just ignore it, it'll go away. This works in all areas of life. Cracks in the foundation? Ignore it. Strange lump in your chest? Ignore it. That's stupid "Check Engine" light won't stop blinking? Ignore it. You libs really need to calm down.

Not really, Trump is the man who kept pushing for the execution of the Central Park 5 after someone else confessed.

Horseshoe theory of wokeness on display here: Trump is admitting that America is intrinsically racist, and anti-racism requires shaking American society to its core.

To be fair, he's right about it being "un-American" in a way; you can't honestly deny that cutting back on racism would be contrary to the entire history of the country, dating back to pre-colonial days when the first European settlers showed up.

/Granted, it's the absolute worst trait of the country and we would do very well to change it.

I've taken the training annually. To be honest, if someone is a racist piece of shiat, it's not going to change their viewpoint.  It's just another box that has to be checked, among many. Both black and white employees joke about it, so in that regard, it brings us together. Like most government training, it's mostly used during the firing process if that becomes necessary. "Well you had the training so you knew better."  It's not like it's that onerous a burden.  We're talking about a couple hours a year.

That said, we all know why he* wants it canceled and he* doesn't care if it does work or not. This action plays well for the sHannitty Foxy Entertainment Corp crowd.

What would you think about replacing that training seminar with one that includes yoga, meditation, and Mindfulness training?  At my yoga studio, we have seminars like this aimed at promoting honest connection, and they're very moving.  That might be more effective than HEY ASSHOLE DONT BE RACIST.

Bullying is a complex activity.

Borrowing from "Virtue Signaling"  this target signaling involves highlighting the lower classes which are ripe victims since their protector is temporarily absent.  It's also a warning to the spectator classes.

The spectator classes are taught to be cowards so they won't be punished as cowards.  It is a bold move on the part of the bully.

It's not a secret that they don't work. This training exists for companies to cover their ass or to give the appearance of caring. The results have been studied and have shown results from 0 to meh and some studies have shown that they make things worse by causing resentment. If we could solve racism this easily it would have been stamped out already just from the after school specials alone.

My husband and I have both taken DoD ethics and sensitivity training (which is about gender and sexual orientation discrimination as much as it is about discriminating by skin color) for the last 20 years, and neither of us have ever taken part in a course that talks about "white privilege" or "critical race theory".

As my husband just put it, "lowest pitch dog whistle yet".

Yep. I don't know where the "anti-American" section of the training is. Like with masks, healthcare, and so on, it's the conservative value of "fuxk you, I've got mine" they must be talking about. New wave conservatives think it's bad and weak to care about, or god forbid help, fellow Americans.

Stop giving Trump credit for this tactic, like everything else he takes credit for someone else invented it.

Back during the Reagan Administration, funding was cut for childhood immunization programs.   The child killers in the Reagan Administration claimed that those federally funded immunization programs were no longer needed because childhood diseases had been eradicated.    About a year after federal funding for childhood immunization programs had been cut, data from a federal health survey showed a substantial increase in childhood diseases that could have been prevented with immunizations.   The Reagan Administration responded by eliminating funding for federal health surveys.

Surveys are a first step toward knowing, which (as GI Joe tried to warn us) is half the battle. Forcing people to know things is how insidious liberals undermine important American mythologies. Like Nancy Reagan said, Just say no know.

The people who hated going to the class the worst WERE the racists. They genuinely felt persecuted being told they couldn't say just any damn offensive thing they wanted.

Trump is a federal employee. He's supposed to take the class . I'll bet you can find documentation in his personnel folder saying he completed the training, signed off by somebody.

I would be surprised if a person that is literally a branch of government actually had to get training certificates.

I doubt it was the same logic, subby. For COVID, it's "less tests = less reported cases = lower numbers = makes me look good". For Racial Sensitivity Training it's more like "Racism isn't real, and even if it is, it doesn't matter because I don't experience it and I even get to do it, so we're going to stop wasting money on training."

Also, he doesn't understand the notion of sensitivity at all and thinks it's a sign of weakness and counter to his tough guy image.

The only thing that is the same about the "reasoning" for both of those things is that it is mind-blowingly idiotic. And yet at least 30% of the population here will look at such reasoning and think (and I use that word in the loosest possible sense), "Huh, smart!" or "Good!".

'Murica.

cefm: Just wait until he finds out there's also anti-sexual harassment training and ethics training.

The problem is that the training works so well that its now come full circle. I just finished my latest stint and at this point its evolved more into how you can't file a harassment claim against a coworker for asking you out repeatedly and less about how you can't ask out a coworker. There's a tiny part about telling crude jokes around the office and how, 'you never know what someone might find offensive'. I'm hoping by next year they'll drop all pretense and say, 'Julie is a woman... she's not interested in you so if you ask her out she may try to say you're harassing her. However, Juan from IT is hot in those chinos and if he were to ask out Julie she'd let him donkey punch her in the equipment closet'.

At the end of it we all just sit around laughing about it joking, 'okay I've been trained in how to harass people' JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE DOES.

For Trump its more about low hanging fruit. He thinks, 'What can I mess with that piss the left off to the point they'll react?'... and viola you have this. The left reacts, the right sees it and it solidifies more votes.

Personally I think behavioral training is the lowest form of condescension and is an insult but I like my overpaid job so I sit there, watch the video, have a glass of wine and click, 'Complete Training' when the tripe is over.

// plus some of those chicks in the video are hot.

I agree the company doesn't really believe that the training will make anyone not a racist.  One other reason they do it is so that the employees are aware they will get reprimanded or fired if they act in a racist manner.  Once they've had the training, the fired racist employees won't be able to sue saying they didn't know they couldn't tell racist jokes.

My company used to have the annual 10 minute followed by short survey. I learned something new strongly disagree - strongly agree. I am going to change my behavior sd - sa.

Now it's a quarterly 30 minute lecture done in person (over video during the plague) followed by a 15 minute struggle session for the white men. It's the same every time. I thought my job was cushy, but the people running these sessions really have it all figured out.

I had it several times myself, and all I remember of the last one is the girl with the green hair. I was thinking, "People color their hair rainbow colors now?" Now I work at the mini-mart, and it's like a freak show. Grandma has green hair, her spouse is wearing biker gear and a Trump hat, and their grandson has spikes coming out of his nose. All in a day's work.
