So obviously it happened since that is not a denial.

Man, everyone in this administration appears to have Alzheimer's. I know if I were told to be on stand by in case I was about to become POTUS that would stick out with me. Maybe Pence needs a cognitive test, too.

Yeah, if he "can't remember" definitively whether something that monumentally consequential happened, he's not fit to be vice president. He's not fit anyway, but this is an actual medical reason for that.

The vp is ALWAYS on standby to become the president. That's their job. Hell, some vps might even have pushed a few levers increase their chances.

He should have been at trump's bedside side with a pillow ready.

Difficulty:  President Mike Pence.

Did anyone ever tell you you're about to become the most powerful man in the world?
Hmmm, i can't really remember.

That's about as likely as Scarlett Johansson asking if you want to do a three-way with her and Charlize Theron.

Hmmm, I can't really remember.

I'd actually be more likely to vote for Trump if he suffered a massive stroke. Persistent vegetative state would actually make him way smarter than he is.

So he totally was, since that's the go-to republican weasel phrase to claim they weren't lying.

Any time someone says they can't "recall" something means they sure as shiat can remember it, but they don't want to share the details, usually due to liability reasons.

Trump: "I totally don't have Parkinson's disease!" = he had a stroke and half his brain is already gone.

Pence: "I was never told to be on standby." = he was watching in the operating theater, praying that Trump would stroke harder.

Well, pence is a typical christian liar and typically christian stupid, so he has lot's of reasons why he never sees or understands anything.

Lawful evil.  I don't want to give Pence too much credit.  n the one hand, he's a true believer unlike Trump, OTOH, he's more predictable.

These guys are the biggest farkups. So many of these things that could be leveraged to show how competent and in control the WH is. But no, it's always a shiatshow. It's always as if they've never had a smart thought in their lives. What idiots.

False.  Sometimes I was incredibly drunk and can't recall entire days.

I honestly bet Pence wants Dumpster to die so he can assume the role.  He confided into someone in his college years that being president was in his destiny. Very disturbing.

Yes, but normal people say things like "I don't remember," or "I was blackout drunk."

"I can't recall" sounds like someone trying to keep in compliance with a non-disclosure agreement. Come to think of it, they probably made Pence sign one just for this occasion.

Remember the excitement you felt when they brought you that raft of paperwork to sign, John Roberts was on speed dial, and you were a heartbeat away from achieving your lifelong dream of becoming the leader of the free world?

I don't recall.

The Vice President of the United States doesn't remember if 10 months ago the President of the United States had a high likelihood of requiring general anesthesia for a major medical procedure?

Is that because Pence has major memory problems like Alzheimers or because this sorta shiat happens frequently and we only know about the one in November?

This admin? It's the only thing that's kept the Republican party from national (as opposed to regional) ignominy and probably a lot of jail time for two generations running.

Berto Gonzales and half of W's admin got away with that shiat for his whole second term.
Reagan and HW got away with that during Iran Contra (except for the fall guy, who went on to an illustrious career working for BUT HER EMAILS News).
Nixon and his flunkies (mostly, except for a few fall guys plumbers) got away with it.

For something like "put on standby to take the oath of office", if you don't remember, that's a dereliction of farking duty.

// there are easier and less obviously-stupid ways to lie about that without implicating national security
// for example: "I am always on standby to take over as President, and I thank The Almighty Lord (brought to you by Carl's Jr) that I have remained in my office lo these 4 glorious years, in obsequious subservience to the greatest and most moral human being who ever lived - a superhuman, really - Donald Jesus Trump"
// or whatever, I'm not a speechwriter

"Your favorite president"? I don't recall that fat tub of @#$! being my favorite president, or even my favorite shade of orange.

They didn't say "standby" so technically it's not a lie.

When I'm asked about something that OBVIOUSLY DIDN'T HAPPEN, HOW DARE YOU FOR THINKING IT DID, I always equivocate for a minute or two instead of just denying it flatly.

Barr said he is surprised to hear that the VP was supposed to take over if the president were dead or otherwise indisposed.  He has a different scenario which would take months, going up the federal court food chain, to be decided on by a Supreme Court which would be under his care at that point.

At this point, I'm gonna become a Republican because it comes with total moral and legal impunity.

isnt that pretty standard? i seem to remember something about biden being president for like 30 minutes while obama was under anesthesia or some shiat like that. Maybe it was a different president. idk.

"I don't recall" = "I'm lying to your face and you're gonna like it."
