Right up front, man; I can see it now! We'll be on the front smiling, man... aww, beautiful!

These were basically Shel Silverstein's coked up party guests who never left, so he put them in a band to get them off his houseboat.  No, really.

Until Sylvia's Mother sees you, then the shiat will hit the fan.

I had this song on a 45 when I was a kid with Sylvia's Mother on the B side.

I saw them in a small venue in Amarillo in mid90s. Got a table closest to the stage. They just had it. Still. Couldn't have been happier with a show of that scale ... except it might have been in  Lubbock, and I have blocked that out, man.

They were having WAY too much fun there

The name is familiar but I'm not familiar with their music as far as I know. These were really good tunes and they are having fun, that's great!

"ROCK & ROLL!!"

I actually saw them live in the mid-90's, still having a blast. For some modern listeners, I'm sure some of the vernacular will be off-putting, but if you can listen to it keeping in mind the time it was originally made, it was surprisingly forward thinking.

Always wanted a freaky old lady to embroidery on my jeans.

deadsanta: These were basically Shel Silverstein's coked up party guests who never left, so he put them in a band to get them off his houseboat.  No, really.

And then several crappy albums came about.  A lot of bands got signed because the record companies were just trying to surf a wave they didn't actually understand.

(most record companies - at that time - were still hoping to sign the next Sinatra and or Dean Martin, not realizing all that was over.)

"The Cover Of Rolling Stone" pales in comparison to "Freakin' At the Freakers' Ball"

I saw it in the YouTube comments and nothing is more true. "You can be high, but you will never be 70's rock band high."
