Trying to read that hurt my eyes.  There is no excuse whatsoever for using that font.

Or that form of prose.  Or those vocabulary choices.

Yes, you got an MA in English lit or creative writing.  No, that doesn't mean you're clever, or witty, or profound.

I liked his glasses. Why didn't more people wear glasses like that back then instead of the transparent snowplows everyone had on their face?

Whatever else John Denver was, he was, first and foremost, the hero of the PMRC wars.

Ayup. Another person with a vocabulary trying to be clever. Scary thing is, considering the cultural references, they should have cooled out about 25 years ago and given up on the hyuk-hyuck.

While I can appreciate the attempt and the effort, this one just didn't click for me.

I always wondered how Daddy Don't Come Home Drunk related to his own alcoholism, which I've heard about 2nd hand after he passed.

I'm a victim of 70s radio, and so I always found his stuff nice to hear. I'm not offended that the writer chose John as a focal point for his (assuming gender) creative writing assignment, but perhaps he should show off his own huge pectoral muscles before criticizing Denver's, for context.
