This wouldn't be true in the early Church. Yes, modern Catholic women have fewer opportunities within Catholicism than Catholic women in the First Century.

Not categorically excluding half the people on Earth from the priesthood might go a long way in solving your endemic "priest shortage" you stupid misogynistic, pedophile-protecting homophobic dickholes.
