Yup. The concept of leaders in the senate/house shouldnt exist. Its killing democracy.

It should be if the majority of senators/congresscritters want to vote on something, they do it, nobody can object.

The american system of ''democracy'' is old AF and it needs reforming.


In the Senate at least, it doesn't really exist already. The Senate sets its own internal rules, so handing over all authority to a single Senator is just something that the Republican Senators all agreed to do.

Gives them a lot of protection against having to make politically tricky votes.

So let's move on. I mean, I'd love it if he dropped dead in the middle of a public appearance, I'd put that shiat on repeat and if some sort of gagging noise managed to escape his puckered facehole, I'd make it a ringtone, but failing that, I don't give a shiat about his "health." As long as he's alive, I don't give a fark about it. The only report I want to see about his health is an autopsy.



I'd literally buy that.

A Terrible Human: My mom had 3 mini strokes a few years ago. She is not the same as she was before them,they left her more unsteady,she has seizures,gets easily upset. How Trump needed help down that ramp is the same way I have to walk with my mom down the ramp where we live.


(shrug) Doesn't matter. The babbling lunatic in the White House is a useful idiot to Putin and traitors in the U.S. who don't care how many die as a result.

This should be clear by now.

Really, this should be the only response to your Republican friends, family, coworkers: they are traitors cheering on the deaths of Americans. There's no debate here. We can all see it happening right out in the open.

I hope the opposite as if he drops dead, they would memorialize him. If he died from "outside causes", they would make him a martyr. But if he lives, he will just be a disgrace. And an inmate. Really crossing fingers for the inmate part.

We know what happened: Trump has oldmanitis and had a flare-up. The doctors ran some tests, and ultimately concluded that the risk of his body and soul getting any further apart was truly minimal. He returned to the white house, where he remained until his next round of golf.

My question is, who the hell edited this article?

There are people who see Trump as a healthy person and would consider anything less than perfect health to be unacceptable.  Some of them will ignore his ill health, others will explain it away; but some will see it as a sign of weakness and hesitate to go to the poll to vote for him.  His ill health is not going to translate to votes for Biden, just some people staying home, which is actually probably better than them going to the polls and voting Biden and straight ticket Republican after.

That always bugs me.  The coxswain, as far as I experienced it, doesn't sit there yelling 'stroke' every time you pull on the oar.  My (admittedly limited) experience was that the only time they did something remotely like that was to give timing to the rowers when we were modifying the ratio of time spent pulling vs recovering to the set position on each stroke as part of a power surge.  Other than that, they provide directions -- things like one side of the boat needing to pull harder to change course to avoid an obstacle.


It was another recycled joke from the 70s, and nothing more.

While trump having strokes is very disconcerting something that I've heard for years prior to the Trump administration that I have not seen discussed about this whole situation is baffling to me.

The health of the president used to be sort of a state secret for national security reasons that could potentially be used against him by national enemies to the point that when he travels there is a secret service agent that would collect his poop so it couldn't be analyzed by say a foreign intelligence agency to find out about some vulnerabilities in the president. I know that sounds over the top but I had heard it for years as a general weird fact about the office of the presidency.

You are pretty much on the money there. The cox is there to (a) steer - he controls the rudder - but carefully as applying the rudder can slow the boat down and affect its balance; (b) implement race strategy that has usually been decided beforehand and to amend the strategy as the race evolves; (c) tell the crew when to increase the stroke rate or to call for a "burn" (usually 10 or 20 strokes) to increase the lead to attempt to catch the other crew if behind. In the old days a cox would have a cox watch that they used to calculate stroke rate and a basic audio system. Nowadays they have complex "cox box" systems that provide a lot of data.
