Sorry, the Liberal Media has already informed us that Real Americans don't care about obscure stuff like the Hatch Act, so therefore the President is now allowed to turn every Federal agency into a branch of his personal election campaign and if you don't like it you can sue him when he stops being President.

Hard not to laugh when people bring up contact tracing.  Good luck doing that in this country when a good 30% of the people will refuse to tell you, and probably spit on your face if you persist.

Most of my life. Condensing as best I can, I read and test quickly, was always the first or second person done when there was all-day testing at school. Always had reading material of my own to pass the rest of the day. There were repeated disciplinary actions as teachers didn't approve of my reading material available at conventional newsstands or libraries. Had a real good row with a Western Civ. teacher shortly after we'd covered the Bill of Rights asking how could I now trust his word on anything he'd been telling us.

/Likely quitting my job this week because my employer has decided everything is back to normal and everybody should come back to the office after Labor Day. I doubt I'll be able to work something out, even though 95% of my job can be done from home.

So basically they're hiring the president. I mean, isn't this the president's job in these situations?

The president doesn't have to be the scientist coming up a vaccine or the engineer rebuilding after a natural disaster. Even coordinating those efforts is on cabinet members and other officials (who should be) appointed before disaster strikes.

When the disaster strikes, the president's #1 job is defeating despair and inspiring hope. Like, when asked if you have a message for the country, you dish out some pablum about pulling together and strength of the union and such. You don't attack the person asking the question.

This is admission the current president isn't fulfilling even the most basic of his duties.

Imagine where we'd be right now if they'd chucked $250 million at testing and contact tracing back in March when there were a hundred cases total.

Could have assigned a dozen plus people to contact trace every single case multiple steps and test everyone they'd interacted with, then wackamole any other cases that showed up.

An attempt to both sway the election, as well as to use taxpayer-provided revenue to facilitate partisan propaganda in an attempt to undermine both Campaign Finance law as well as a corrupt attempt to grift/pay off Trump allies in PR firms, without using Trump's own funds or hit up the increasingly reluctant campaign donors, who may already be reading the writing on the wall.

The main part of the contract will be creating public service advertisements to persuade people to "engage in behavior that actively promote health behaviors or good citizenship."

Couldn't we spend some of that money promoting arson and looting instead?

I was curious, so I did a short google research.

The Got Milk? ad campaign was launched in 1993 with a budget of $23 million per year. It's 27 years later, and the ad campaign is still going. If it spent the same every year it would have spent $621 million over that 27 year period.

$250 million seems like a pretty large budget for what's probably going to amount to a shiatty pamphlet and cheap TV commercial.

The Conservative Party in Canada is not doing enough to discredit the corruption of Trump, while capitalizing on voters who wave Trump flags on our own Parliament Hill. I am worried the corruption is already here in the form of the Conservatives, not the form of the the Liberals. The Liberals don't wave the flags of a foreign power famous for corruption.
