I wonder if the GOP is starting to try and figure out how far back they have to pull the racism.  Not all the way, certainly, the racists are an important demographic to them, but enough not to scare away the people who like to think of themselves as open minded.

After Snowe left the Senate, she had a Facebook group (I think it was Facebook) for a while, then dropped right off the face of the earth.

She should come back to endorse Gideon.  Time may have provided some rose colored glasses, but Collins carries herself like Snowe while voting like a Graham.

I think Susan Collins get an unfair reputation. In these trying times, it's important to put partisanship aside and keep an open mind when it comes to Donald Trump's first 1,319 days in office. It's important to consider that this man is not a career politician, and it may take some time for him to get acquainted with the particulars of the job. I think liberals everywhere should maintain that same open mind that Susan Collins has and consider that he may require another 4 years before he finally pivots into being presidential. We should all be willing to give Donald Trump a chance to prove himself, just as Susan Collins is doing.

No mercy. You're either with America or you're with Trump, and Suzy Republican over there sure votes with Trump a lot.

It's rats fleeing the sinking ship time.  She's not even clever enough to go full "fleeing rat."  I'm voting straight Democrat this year, for the first time in my life.  From President, right down to the local dogcatcher, anyone with an R has been complicit in this fascism farkery.

Collins is married to a lobbyist. Their income and standard of living depends on the access he has to her colleagues. She'll never be concerned enough to do anything that gets him blacklisted.

Susan, the majority of the time you voted in Trump's favor. Your "concern" is a bunch of bullshiat. This aide is calling you out for the POS you are, and you should just resign in disgrace.

Wait, what I am saying? This the GOP we're talking about. The last time they felt ashamed of anything was after Joseph McCarthy's witch hunt.

The Cook Political Report, a nonpartisan election handicapper, currently rates the Maine Senate race as a "toss-up."

A toss-up? A toss-up?
If Trump wins we need the Senate to be blue.

"At long last, have you no shame?" is a great rallying cry for this election.

got called out by Margret Chase Smith (along with Edward R. Murrow) and public opinion about McCarthy had shifted.

Oh gosh, another reformed GOP turncoat that feels the "party left them" after they elected a guy who has given them every policy plank they have ever dreamed about.  Tax cuts for rich people.  Immigrant hate.  "Tough on other peoples crime."  Regulatory rollbacks.  Privatization of government services.  Taking an ace to Social Security, and let us not forget, tax cuts for rich people.

Trump is everything they have dreamed about since FDR.   They just hate him because he says it out loud.

Fark Colins.  Fark Snowes former aid.  And fark Republicans.  This is what you wanted.  Own it.

Nooooooooo shiat. Not asking her to leave the party, just asking for her to vote her district and her conscience instead of the shiatty crazy party line. Can't do that? GTFO. If you don't vote different than Mitch and Ted, you're no different than Mitch and Ted.

If someone asked that, Trump would immediately launch into a diatribe about how everyone else should feel shame without ever answering the question.

Wasn't she the concerned vote against shiat when it didn't matter to appear non partisan and the vote didn't matter anyway? I seem to recall a few low key Rs pulling this trick. No one important.
