Nice

Ask Nancy to impeach every trump official carrying out his illegal directives.

So like, can we reach out to the UN and get them to oversee this election?

Well, that sure as hell didn't pull any punches. He stopped about one step short of outright calling Trump a traitor.

AlgaeRancher: Nice

And how do you expect that to work out when the Russpublican traitors in Congress - who are ALSO benefitting from this criminal activity and are ALSO kompromat-owned puppets - acquit them?

Also, it forces congresscritters to abandon their campaigns to attend the proceedings... two months from the election.

"Stop demanding action and change that upsets the Apple cart! Start accepting our elected officials are impotent and powerless and purely figureheads of opposition to assaults on every thing you believe in!"

I mean... with compelling arguments like these, why bother voting at all?

It's nice to have someone state these things outright.   I've been exposed to too much mealy mouthed bullshiat from people in high places.   I hope the news runs this and forces Donnie's twitter fingers to say something incriminating.

Impeachment is not going to work, but far more Republicans are up for re-election in the senate than are Dems.  If the 33 senators who are up for re-election missed the vote, that would swing the chamber considerably to the left.  If all 100 had to stay in DC for a month, it would keep more Repubs from campaigning than Dems.

In lieu of that, the house can issue subpoenas and such, and I suspect they will.  The fact that they will be ignored is just more proof of refusal to adhere to the rule of law.

:eyeroll: Fine, it's late but let's do this tired dance again... Maestro, the Tik-Tak schnellpolka if you would?

Besides shouting "DO SOMETHING," do you have any actual, legally actionable ideas for what "SOMETHING" should be, given that the Democrats control one half of one third of the Government, and the entirety of the legal enforcement mechanism available is corrupted by the traitors?

Gee, it's like the inability to actually do anything about this actually IS itself a compelling reason to vote. But that doesn't fit in with the "democrats is always at fault" despair shiatposting at all.

It's not my farking job to be a legal expert on federal government law enforcement. And for you to point the finger at me or anyone is a tiresome farking disingenuous tactic. It's a tacit admission that these people are NOT worth voting for because they can not mount any sort of opposition to a whole sale take over of the federal government. Is that your only farking position? To blame people who elected others who are dissatisfied with their job performance that sitting on your over paid farking hands is not good enough?

First you investigate and arrest every elected official who took NRA rubles in 2016. And before you ask- yes, it is legal to arrest Republicans for breaking the law.

Then you hold the impeachment votes.

So you admit that you don't know what SOMETHING is, but also refuse to do anything but blindly rage when those who do know (you know, like the Democratic party's legal experts who advice the party leadership) point out that SOMETHING is in fact "nothing, legally, as long as traitor bill barr controls the Department of Justice and the traitor Russpublicans control the Senate."

Have you considered the possibility that the adults (i.e. not the Trumpists) in Washington have concluded that with legal avenues closed and the election in two months, the course of action least likely to play directly into the traitors' hands (And you cannot imagine that any extralegal action does not carry a MASSIVE risk of exactly that) is to give them no excuses and hope that polls are correct and they lose power?

This election is to America what 1932's was to Germany - and at this, point all signs are that the Nazis get thrown out on their asses. So yes, in fact, by all means let us NOT turn over the apple cart, and NOT hand Stupid Orange Hitler (or rather, stephen "Goebbels" miller and bill "Himmler" barr) a Reichstag Fire.

Call me crazy, but I'd be far more likely to re-elect a representative who was actively working to prevent treasonous actions.  These people have staffs, they can do more than one thing at once.

I know I'm preaching to the choir here...  But it is an amazement to me how many laws are on the books that sound like they are really serious but in reality, are unenforcable.

Like the Hatch Act, for instance.  What Trump is doing, using the White House for his campaigning...  It's a violation of the law.  And all anyone can do is say that out loud.  There is no way to enforce it.  There is no way to stop it from happening. There is no penalty.

Or the emoluments clause.  We've been saying for 4 years now that such behavior is forbidden by the Constitution.  But there is no way to enforce it.  No way to act on it of prevent it.  No fines, no penalty.  Nothing.

Seriously, man, what the actual fark?  Why do we even have such laws if they don't amount to anything more than news stories, or platforms for Biden to make a speech?

I think the point is, that the Congresscritters do not need to be actively campaigning if they are visibly working.
They could just film themselves doing that and slap a "[name] for Congress 2020" tag on it, and there's their campaign ad.

You're not entirely wrong. The ballot box is the most practical method of removal we have at this juncture.

Which is precisely why Democrats should have impeached Trump a few dozen times already, Senate be damned. Their refusal to do anything while complaining that they have their hands tied is a shiat electoral strategy, and plays right into the hands of Republicans who want us to believe that both sides are equally corrupt.

Democrats could have demonstrated that there is a difference between the two parties, and that one of the parties is actually willing to fight on behalf of America against overwhelming odds. But they did not. We will all be lucky if this farking gigantic tactical and moral mistake doesn't result in four more years of Trump.

The country needs a coup.

It's already in the middle of one.

durbnpoisn: I know I'm preaching to the choir here...

I read somewhere he loved violating the Hatch Act for the convention because no one could stop him.

More blood shed.

If I did not know any better, one would think Biden considers Trump to be a traitor.

So glad Democrats are ready to blame Russia again for another humiliating loss to Trump.  If it were not for Russia we would have UBI, no more poor people and legal immigration. We (democrats) would be so happy that racism has ended because Hillary and covid would be cured by now. Best part is that the rich would be punished for being successful in life and criminals rewarded with freedom. The working class would run Republicans out of town and the party dissolved because nothing sucks more than working for a living.

erik-k: Night Train to Wakanda: erik-k: Night Train to Wakanda: erik-k: Well, that sure as hell didn't pull any punches. He stopped about one step short of outright calling Trump a traitor.

AlgaeRancher: Nice

Ask Nancy to impeach every trump official carrying out his illegal directives.

It's not my farking job to be a legal expert on federal government law enforcement. And for you to point the finger at me or anyone is a tiresome farking disingenuous tactic. It's a tacit admission that these people are NOT worth voting for because they can not mount any sort of opposition to a whole sale take over of the federal government. Is that your only farking position? To blame people who elected others who are dissatisfied with their job performance that sitting on your over paid farking hands is not good enough?

Then you deserve ...

/Then afterwards, the DoJ can begin systematically hunting them down
//Starting with those responsible for snatching children from their parents and throwing them in cages

So you admit you are a garbage human being who has chosen to look at the burning kitchen and think "this is fine".

Blaming someone for others ineptitude is a neat farking trick.

So you admit that the House under Pelosi is ineffective and useless.
I am calling BS on the "legal experts" angle. The possibility of immediate success is not the only variable to consider. Do you think the BLM protesters should just sit down and shut up when cops kill Black people, because their protests probably won't be successful today? They know they probably won't get the changes they want (and deserve) right now but they are doing it anyway because its the only avenue left to move the cause forward and advocate for the farking right thing! Just because it's not immediately successful doesn't make it meaningless, now or in the long run.

Pelosi and her ilk do not have that kind of fortitude - they are the path of least resistance, personified.

I have considered that, and I reject that alleged conclusion. I think their "oh bother... here's another politely critical letter" strategy is exactly playing "into the traitors' hands". As you indicated above, they really are counting on us to be there for them in November. Well here we are in August really counting on them, and...........*crickets*.
Do you think that will be forgotten in 9 weeks?

Nice strawman.

The truth is far simpler than that - without Trump in the spot, we'd have a generally functioning government.  We'd be acting on Covid like the rest of the modern world.  We could reasonably have most of our economy open, and about 20% of the deaths.  We'd have $2T less in debt from a tax giveaway to the top 1%. We'd have a functioning State Department with experienced ambassadors.  The rulings that would have given relief to tens of thousands with predatory student loans would have been enforced.  We'd be working with our allies instead of against them.

You know, the basics of a modern government.

And we wouldn't be doomed with a theocratic ultra-right SCOTUS for the next several generations.
