Tony, Toni, Toné. What's the difference?

Well, I did every bit of that and more when I was younger. It was worth every white hair, ache and wrinkle. Get out there and do it while you can, so that while you're sitting and your rocking chair on the porch, rocking your grandkids to sleep or watching them run around being silly, you can quietly remember that time you stripped naked and danced covered with glitter while doing so much acid you couldn't see straight for a week. If you ever wonder why grandma smiles, she's thinking about stuff like that but she'll never tell you.

Damn, I didn't get laid until the end of my senior year of high school. Didn't drink until I was 21. Didn't smoke weed until college. First three way (the good kind) at 24. And it's not like I'm some fat bastard. I suck compared to you guys.

I wish I had not drank so much.   I cringe thinking back to what an ass I must have been.  I can manage it now but it is definitely something I always need to be wary of.

Yup.  I'm 52 now and don't regret my party days one bit.  Now, I know a number of people who went too far and ended up with regrets.  But I just had fun and didn't do anything I regret today.  I even advised my own kids, everyone should try psychedelics at least once.  :)  Just do things safely and don't hurt anyone, and don't make any of these things a lifelong habit or fall into the black hole of substance abuse, and there's nothing wrong with having some fun in your youth.

/Now a 6 pack will last in the fridge for a month
//And I still get high, but have switched to edibles

karmachameleon: I even advised my own kids, everyone should try psychedelics at least once.  :)

My advice to my kids was something like "all things in moderation."  If you're doing something so much that it takes over your life and crowds out other things then you need to reassess.  Even supposedly "wholesome" shiat like exercise or church or whatever can be harmful if it becomes something you obsess over.

I regret wasting away big chunks of my youth with stupid people who I never should have looked up to. The best party time I had was when I was in charge instead of following someone else's lead.

That will be the advice I give my own kids - do your own thing, not what you think is expected of you by others.

This is the motivation I needed to finish my time machine. Who's with me? We're going back and showing Miss Braxton a good time or three.

Now that I'm old and broken down, I don't regret many of the things that got me this way (one ankle has problems, partially due to being broken in a bad skydiving landing for instance).  On a clear day I can look out back and up into the cloudless sky and remember the feeling of flying/falling towards the earth at 120mph and the flips and other fun things done on the way down.

What I would regret is sitting here now, with my body not working the way it should, watching a YT video of someone doing the above and thinking "You know, I wish I had done something like that back when I could..."

Go do something as simple as a walk in the woods today and make some memories.  Because being able to do just that tomorrow isn't guaranteed to anyone.  Your life can change unexpectedly instantly.

If everything turns out great.

There are many who live that life and don't live to be old. There are many who have broken lives, broken bodies and broken dreams.

Many wished they stayed in school, study harder instead of partying hard.

The fact is everyone regrets not doing what they didn't do.

See this is why you leave the party before the orgy starts, because once it does you'll never want to party again it's straight to the orgy.

Whenever I see Toni Braxton, I always think of some white/Asian chick writhing around on a bed doing lovely things to herself in some 2003 or so video that I'm sure would look like Minecraft now were I to ever find it again.

I also regret not having more sex when I was younger.  Not for lack of trying.  This ties into partying too much, doing too many drugs, drinking too much, and staying out of church.

Damn, people like yourself are more messed up than the ex-girlfriend who you broke up with that calls you a year later just to tell you that she no longer wants to get back together so don't ever call her because she is over you.

I only regret one thing from my youth, and that was ever smoking that first cigarette.  The rest of your life you're either chasing that brief 5 second high, or you're thinking about smokes because you quit.  Been through both so many times.

The hangovers in my 20's, the brief flings with girls, the periods of depression and regret, it was all good.

Yeah, this is mine.  Having that cigarette for (what I thought was) just an extra touch of cool, and to help the beer just a little more agreeable.  Cigarettes aren't screwing around; after a week of doing that every day on a spring break trip, I came home and wanted them all the time. I'd run that piece of it back

I have/had  A LOT of fun. I just dont remember the specifics.

i guess one thing is i wish i paid attention more at concerts when i was younger vs. embracing the party as much as i did but hey i can relisten to a lot of them now

but there are old friends in the ground who wish i could see again who couldn't wrangle their demons.

Mine was this dude who always wore a primus shirt who was a friend in high school who "taught" me how to do the shiat.  There is definitely something soothing about even just holding one these days. Introduced a lifetime "ball and chain" into my system for the last 20+ years.

Making those life choices when you are in your 20's is to be preferred to making those life choices when you are in your 40's. At least when you are in your 20's your body can recover from them better than your body can when it is in your 40's. Getting old is a PITA (as my right knee reminds me every day, now that I am rapidly closing in on 60).

Be thankful you didn't, Ms Braxton. Too many people in your field have not survived to your age because of their activities when they were younger, including a contemporary of yours who also had a religious upbringing and fell in with the wrong people. She drowned in the shower with a bloodstream full of cocaine.
