I'm sure they have some reason for thinking this is a good hire but I suspect the reality is they can't find people to crew sinking ships.

He spread the conspiracythat Barack Obama's birth certificate wasn't born in Hawaii

Jesus, not only did they claim Obama wasn't born in Hawaii, now they're even questioning the legitimacy of the birth of his certificate?! Do these people have no shame or decency?

This absolutely not shocking.

In Oregon, we had some decent old school Republicans.   Tom McCall, Vic Atiyeh, Mark Hatfield and yes, Bob Packwood (Who while he rightly resigned for being  masher was also endorsed by NARAL).   You could disagree wit them, and I did, but they were not drooling idiots.

Fast forward a decade or two and Art "mail me your pee" Robinson became the head of the state GOP.   And NOW the GOP candidate for Senate against, Jo Rae Perkins, is an out and proud Qanon.

The GOP and RNC have both sold want left of their souls to QAnon.

mrwknd: The GOP and RNC have both sold want left of their souls to QAnon.

The Behind the Bastards podcast recently covered Phyllis Schlafly and how she basically helped shape the Republican party into what it is today. She was a John Birch Society member and a lot of the propaganda that shiatstain spread is what you see in Qanon today.

Guy is a lawyer. I don't know if he was ever a GOOD lawyer, but it's another example showing that education doesn't necessarily fix stupid. On the other hand, it's possible that he's quite intelligent but lacks scruples, using his radio show to basically parrot Rush Limbaugh stuff. Whatever the case is, if you read TFA the only conclusion is that he's an asshole. So he's a perfect fit for his chosen party.
