Smith had a baby known as "The Band baby". Fathered by either Helm, Manuel or Danko, probably Helm.
Before fame as 3/5th the Band, they were popped for having a kilo of pot. Smith then performed oral on the policeman, who was then informed that Smith was 16 (she wasn't) and they were released without charges filed.

..admitted to injecting Belushi with the heroin and cocaine "speedball" that led to his death at age 33 ..

He was only 33?  I was a kid at the time, so I just assumed he was in his 40's.

Lived hard. Died young. That was John Belushi.

I thought this headline was about Ace Frehley dying.

Maybe it was the grief talking, but I distinctly remember Dan Aykroyd insisting immediately after his death that John Belushi wasn't a junkie.

You don't have to be a junkie for a speedball to kill you.

That's not the point. The point is that Dan Aykroyd - and again this was immediately after Belushi's death so he was probably still in grief/shock/whatever - said that John Belushi wasn't a junkie, which is absurd. It's been pretty well documented from several sources that Belushi threw down on cocaine like it was candy.

/I just remember doing a a big WTF double-take when I heard Aykroyd's denial.
//And also thinking with that attitude that I would soon read about Aykroyd overdosing as well.
///Surprised as hell that he's still alive.

A junkie is specifically a heroin addict.
It's entirely possible that Belushi was addicted to coke, but not heroin.  I don't know though, I haven't read his biography or anything.

/is very sad that cocaine seems to be making a comeback in popular culture

Lightfoot said, "Cathy was a great lady. Men were drawn to her, and she used to make me jealous. But I don't have a bad thing to say about her."

Really, judging her as some kind of monster while men doing the same shiat get a pass says volumes. Awesome song too

Ummm, I don't think so. Maybe is regional thing or something, but a junkie from when I was going up was a drug addict.
