Try as I might, I keep calling him "Bansky".

The boat, named "Louise Michel" after a French feminist anarchist, has been operational since last week. On Thursday it rescued 89 people, including 14 women and four children, from a rubber boat in distress, the group said on its website.

Dayum. Props to everyone involved. Put their money and lives where there mouths are.

Buttknuckle: but I watched "Exit Through the Giftshop" and thought we were suppose to hate Banksy.

You should. Graffiti tagging is a plague. Now I get it, he's an ARTIST. BFD. It's like saying McDonald's is FOOD, and food is ALWAYS GOOD. Tagging is produced much in the same way usually... by people of limited talent, has a poor taste, bad for the environment, is cheap and consumable by the drooling masses and cheapens a properly designed environment.

Murals are not graffiti, btw. That's just street art. If you don't know the difference then GFY, you big dummy.

Taggers are the opposite of any good artist. Instead of producing talented work and getting their name out that way, they focus on the name and go backwards, regardless of whether they have any talent or not. Any real artist should despise them.

I thought "real artists" appreciate that "everything is art" (unless it gets popular).

Whilst I commend the intent I suspect every naval & coastal patrol boat or clipper that spots them has orders to halt, board them & fine tooth combing their vessel for any contravention of the International Maritime Organisation regs & other local national laws.

Not up to scratch? Vessel turned away from national waters or impounded (at owners cost) until defects are corrected (also at owners cost). No insurance? Say goodbye to their boat. Confiscated. Then come the arrests and possibly deportations of the crew.

I hope they have good insurance underwriters, but Chapter V of the SOLAS convention may allow at least some refugees to be taken to a safe country.

We shall watch their career with great interest...

The twist is, after the first rescue, when it returns to port the dock is hiding a shredder and the ship is destroyed.

I'm starting to deal with the lack of social interaction by painting Banksy rats around the house. I call them my little 2020 plague rats.

:) I bought a house that had a huge mural covering one of the bedroom walls- Disney princesses in horrible perspective. I had a party and let the guests deface them before I turned to your obvious solution. Paint works.

She'd have to fix the sloppy work where the Venetian plaster was done. The paint runs up on the trim for some reason. So another bucket of paint. And that brown? Really? I'd shoot myself if my brush work was that sloppy.

Funny thing that I have artistic integrity to call out graffiti vandalism for what it is, and be called a loser. Much like how your average Republican homophobe usually turns out to have a little touch of the lavender... Think that the person calling me a loser might just be the loser themselves.

Maybe their art sucks.

Only if you use it correctly... and as you can tell by that slop, the brush work just ain't there, bubba

You're so kind.

I did the plastering and painting of the kitchen myself. It's not professional, but I'm not a professional. I don't know why I feel the need to explain this, but I moved 32 times in my first 40 years of life and I don't intend to move again unless it's a nursing home. This house was bought with the intent of growing old here. We've built a pottery studio on the land and we own it outright (that is, if anyone can really own a house and land).

The point is, I don't not buy a house I love just because someone painted on the walls. And I don't not paint rats on the walls because I'm worried about its future re-sell value.

Another rat in hopes it makes "The Brains" cringe. This weekend I'm adding a banjo rat and a fiddle rat to the music room.

Much better work in that room, and I hope you use the fireplace every night you need it.

But fark Banksy in the ear, and the many tribes of coked-out skateboarder vandals that think that tagging something is an art. You do the art then get the name.
