Who?

Yes, because when someone loses a race, they must exit politics forever.

Dude is like 30. He can be around for another 50 years if he wants to.

God, everything is either  The Hill, Fox "News" or the farking NYPost around here.

They're RIGHT.  WING.  GARBAGE.

Hey, I'm as 'over' the Kennedys as anyone, but some biatch right-wing columnist from the New York shiatpost isn't the one I'm going to listen to about it.

raerae1980: Isn't he the one against vaccines?   Yeah....we don't need him on our side.

He's also against recreational marijuana, despite the tax revenue being a big deal at a time where Mass (and a lot of other states) are seeing budget shortfalls due to COVID. He isn't 100% on board with medical either. Markey is superior and is already in the seat, in the Senate where seniority is a big deal. It kinda pisses me off that Pelosi endorsed Kennedy over Markey.

Still voting Dem, and planning on hitting the primary early voting station to vote for Markey today, but might throw some money at Pelosi's next primary challenger.

Trying to primary one of the sponsors of the Green New Deal was unwise.

This just in.  Subby is an idiot.

FTFA:  When Joe Kennedy III, the undistinguished, 39-year-old, four-term Democratic congressman from Massachusetts, announced he would challenge longtime incumbent Ed Markey for the US Senate last September, the liberal media had its typical slobbering, Pavlovian response.

In the same sentence he's both undistiguished and a liberal media sensation.

Punk was never relevant.

All of the punk acts that became mainstream did so by no longer being punk.  Blondie, Billy Idol, The Clash, etc.

He's my rep.  I really wish that I had Ayanna Pressley.  Hopefully Joe will find his way out of politics soon and find a better way to put his family's money and name to good use.

Meh, she got her feet wet in politics when she met JFK in the early 60s. That endorsement was just her being loyal to the Kennedy family versus any real ideological differences. Or at least I hope that was the case.

I have been agonizing over this choice, but have to go with not liking family political dynasties slightly more than not liking lifetime members of the MA political machine.  Tough call though.

I would totally get it if it was an open seat, but it's not cool to throw an elbow against someone from your own party who is already in the seat.

Pelosi couldn't really articulate the "whys" behind her endorsement.

Doesn't just kinda piss me off. It's more evidence that she's woefully inadequate to the task. We need new blood in leadership.

I don't get why he's going up against Markey?
I've always like Markey. The other guy needs to earn his bones because running as a Kennedy
isn't a guarantee of anything at this point.
there's already a John Kennedy in the senate after all. He was probably elected on name recognition alone, but in a stiginit to the libs kind of way.

A dynasty isn't a legacy subby.  The American's with Disabilities Act is still alive and well.  For now.

Theory that I saw was that this was a warm up, on the assumption that Warren will be getting a job in the next administration, leaving an open seat. Even more reason I want her to gun for Senate Majority Leader assuming we can flip it. We need as many liberals as possible in the Senate.

Please. The worst thing to happen to the Kennedy legacy recently was Melania destroying Jackie O's Rose Garden.  That was more a demonstration of Trumpian crassness than any change in sentiment towards the Kennedys.

There are things that honestly should be a hard  hell no I don't support this person
Being anti-vaccines is at the top of the list

Is there nothing by itself that would stop you from supporting someone?
Would you be cool with someone who agreed with you on everything but once and awhile he felt the need to rape someone?

Nobody under 60 remembers or cares about the Kennedys. Even the legions of Catholics who loved them way back when are either lapsed or frothing at the mouth about abortion on the Republican side of the aisle.

Oh good, I was worried she made a political move I disagreed with out of sincere difference in policy, but it turns out it was 100% pure nepotism. That makes me feel better.

You don't understand. Nancy doesn't want progressives to challenge established dems. That's her entire purpose.
