Benevolent Misanthrope: stupid, selfish, gullible idiots

So, human beings?

We like to believe we're all reasonably rational and civilized but that's just a veneer.

I don't buy that.  Yes, humans have our failings.  That doesn't excuse us for being selfish, stupid, gullible or in any way perpetrating harm on others or supporting those who do.

Asked about her two votes for Mr. Obama, Ms. Schenkel faulted him for doing little, in her view, to heal racial divisions or lift the Black community. She cited a "blood bath" of crime in Chicago whose victims are mainly young Black men, and a high abortion rate for African-American women. "I feel he made race relations the worst I've seen in my 50 years," she said.

I've come to think that at least some people who supported Obama did so for racist reasons.  As in, I think there was a real contingent out there that wanted to see Obama as President not as a step forward in racial equality, but as the formal end to racism.  Mitch McConnell certainly believed that we "paid for the sin of slavery" by electing Obama.

I also get the sense that some Obama-Trump supporters had weird, racist expectations for Obama.  Like, maybe he could 'fix' the black community.  He'd just be like "My brothers and sisters, as you are in my image, so must my will be done.  Thou shalt pull up thine pants.  Thou shalt stop killing one another and aborting black babies.  And I say unto you, these white men are of no danger to you!  You must embrace them!  So is it commanded."  And they were pissed off when that didn't happen.  I think this lady was expecting something like that:

Asked about her two votes for Mr. Obama, Ms. Schenkel faulted him for doing little, in her view, to heal racial divisions or lift the Black community. She cited a "blood bath" of crime in Chicago whose victims are mainly young Black men, and a high abortion rate for African-American women. "I feel he made race relations the worst I've seen in my 50 years," she said.

This is why the model minority myth is still racism.  Sure, it may seem innocent to mockingly assume the Asian kid is good at math.  But those people are still not seeing the person as a person, or the community as a community of people.  And, among other problems, it means they're going to have unrealistic, or maybe just unusual expectations of what a model minority individual can or should do.  And that could make a person angry when a model minority fails to live up to expectations and instead acts more like, you know, a human.

Me today: "In four short years, far left have lost their farking minds."

I have a friend who likes Trump.  I asked him why.  He said he liked how he was withdrawing troops from the middle east.  I told him he might want to do a bit more research about that.  He did say he wasn't happy about the debt when I asked what he thought about the increase in the military budget.   And he said he likes the "freedom" but then spent a whole weekend watching raw footage of the Portland protests in order to validate his belief Trump sending the DHS was justified.

In other words.  None of these people care about what Trump and his Administration actually does.  They just either watch Fox News or follow Ben Shapiro and the Q Anon crap.  And don't question it.  Or they do question and do their own research which just further validates their ignorance.  And they think that's normal.

He said nothing when I told him Trump is incapable of running a functioning government.

My question for the sane and reasonable out there is:

Are you prepared to say goodbye to your Trumpist relative or family member as we enact the necessary purge?

I know it's difficult.  But America's future is at stake.

"While polling and interviews turn up ample evidence of these traits, tens of millions of Americans will vote for Mr. Trump, and there are plenty of supporters who transcend the stereotypes, whose personal experiences or policy interests make him the right fit for them"

It's way too late for this, NY Times. We're past the "they're humans too" stage of this fight. It's time for all his voters to go on the f*cking pile and burn.

Make sure you post the corollary, too.  You can't reason or negotiate with people who hold a position like that.  You have to live with them, or suppress them.  They can only be suppressed by vote or by force.

Yay, another "what do the idiots think" story. (wanking motion)

Stop asking these brain donors what they think or why. I'll explain it:

What they think: They try not to think. In fact, they really resent having to think hard about anything.
Why: They're racist assholes.

That's it. Really not that farking complicated, though some of them pretend it's complicated because it allows them to negotiate how racist they can be without most people giving up and just saying, "They're racist assholes." They're like those scammers who still send faxes asking for banking information. Smart people ask, "Who in the fark still responds to these things?" And the answer is, somebody still does, otherwise they'd stop sending them.

As long as morons like the people at the New York Times continue to ask them why they voted for a racist asshole as if it's really a mystery, they'll continue to shiat out transparently stupid excuses and morons like the New York Times will continue to print it as if to demonstrate how "objective" they are.
