Feeling sorry for and hoping a person gets help to overcome cognitive dissonance is not intolerance but genuine concern for the welfare for others.

"I see more intolerance from the LGBTQ community for being a Republican than I feel from the Republican community for being gay," he added.

Two things:

1.  I see more intolerance from the LGBTQ community (the G part anyway) for being fat.
2.  What you see as "intolerance" towards modern-day Republicanism is what I'd call a justified "intolerance" as put forth by Karl Popper.  Republicans aren't exactly well-known for being tolerant of anything other than WASPs.

This feels like epic trolling.
I guess backing the party that hates everything about you is the election year "edgy".

Maybe if he understood that conservatives aren't republicans he wouldn't be so confused.

I'm assuming its the whole 'Republicans are okay with gay and/or Palestinian people being slaughtered.

Being 'one of the good ones' makes you useful to the hateful little sh*ts.  It doesn't mean they respect you.

This guy doesn't make any less sense than any other Trump voter.  Voting against one's self interest for "reasons" will always be foolish.

If Covid was not around, and there were Biden and Trump rallies going on right now, I would ask him to create a sign saying "I'm a proud, gay, biracial Palestinian" and walk around with it on a few Biden and Trump rallies... and then to tell us how he was treated on those rallies afterwards.

You're born gay and Palestinian. You can't be judged for that.

You choose to join the Republican Party and help enable all the evil they do. You can be judged for that.

And they will

Well, see, here's the difference: Democrats will dislike that you're a republican. Republicans will dislike that you're gay, biracial, and have Palestinian heritage.

Put differently, Democrats hate the choices that you make, while republicans hate who you are, right down to the very fiber of your being.

spongeboob: Oral Roberts University, where he is a senior.

While homosexual activity is against the school's honor code, many LGBTQ students have still attended the school due to family or personal choice. Over time, ORU alumni have made groups such as ORU-OUT and gay-straight alliances to allow LGBTQ students and alumni to have social support groups.

So why would he go to Oral Roberts?
Why is he worthy of an article?
How is this 21 year old so politically connected to get this article

I'm guessing its his love affair with Oral

Is there perhaps another where a person does unusual things to get attention?

Being a Republican is NEVER okay, for anyone.

Saying that someone is a Republican is the very worst thing I can say about someone.

Used to be someone like that on Fark, oh, say back around 2008 or so.  Woman that identified as bi from the heartland that loved her some GOP because of their fiscal responsibility and wasn't really concerned about gay marriage bans denying people their civil rights.

They're out there.  You can try talking to them.  I don't really bother.

The Republican party:
-Does not want LGBT people to be able to marry.
-Does not want LGBT people to be able to adopt.
-Does not want schools to talk about LGBT people.
-Does not want LGBT people represented in the media.
-Thinks it's perfectly fine for businesses and employers to discriminate against LGBT customers and employees.
-Thinks it's perfectly fine for churches to use shock therapy to "cure" LGBT people.

And somehow this guy thinks the LGBT community is LESS tolerant.

With the Siamese twins and the transvestite
Five days since that awful brawl

It's been three days since the bitter feud
Between the KKK and that gay Jewish black dude
Yesterday, finally dawned on me
I'm spendin' way too much time on that Jerry Springer

The Prayer Tower at ORU is perfect place for you and your buddy to ditch your sorta buddy during golf camp.  Single elevator=assisted assisted disappearance.

arrogantbastich: Maybe if he understood that conservatives aren't republicans he wouldn't be so confused.

Yeah I'd call my self a conservative/libertarian leaning pragmatist so in America I'm a registered Democrat because the Republican party is more of a "try to cripple the government for our benevolent corporate overlords and install an authoritarian Christian theocracy to purge the heretics" party than it is a "conservative" party.

So while I broadly disagree with a lot of the democrats politics and policy goals I prefer their stance on trying to improve the country as opposed to the Republican stance of trying to burn everything down to screw minorities. I'm finding myself increasingly less tolerant of anyone who calls themself a republican especially now that the party has pretty much formally ceded all ideological control to the trump cultists.

Hey kid, didn't you get the memo?

You're expected to toe the line with identity politics.  It's not about ending discrimination, it's about voting for people who will use permanent discrimination in favor of marginalized and other groups to secure the future for you in every sense of the word "future", including your money. It's not about changing minds, it's about outnumbering them so we can ignore them. It's not about securing equal opportunity for all, it's about securing unequal outcomes, to compensate for oppressions, microaggressions, transgressions, expressions, and every word ending in -ssions that you can imagine.  It's not about a free marketplace of ideas, it's about making sure only the correct ideas get expressed and heard.

If you understood how all of that works and how critical Democrats are to your future, you'll vote Democrat.  And if not, fark you Uncle Tom.

Yup.

Again, I refer back to Karl Popper.

As opposed to John Popper, who is still OK in my book.  But, I digress.

"I really don't understand why the LGBTQ is so intolerant of my politics," said the gay Persian man shortly after he posted a meme he thinks will really trigger some snowflakes. "I thought they were supposed to be the tolerant ones, but you should have heard the things they called me when I was slashing some Goodyear tires in the parking lot, or for suggesting that the real problem with black people getting killed by police was Antifa. I even try to meet them halfway by constantly encouraging them to debate me at every opportunity but they're not even willing to discuss if being transgender is a mental illness. Suggest that a few of them are just devil worshiping pedophiles that don't care about other people unless they're paid to do so by Soros and they'll even stop inviting you over. This PC cancel culture is getting ridiculous."

Before the interview ended he then stopped and said. "Oh man, before you go, would you like and subscribe to my Youtube channel? I've got this really great 60 part series on why diversity and feminism are a cancer to society."

Animatronik: Hey kid, didn't you get the memo?

It's really hard for you to accept that the simple existence of people like, say, Dinesh D'Souza and Alan West does not mean discrimination is fixed, or that Republicans are somehow offering better solutions to discrimination than Democrats. In fact, it's quantifiable that Republicans aren't offering better solutions to that problem, since most of their rhetoric goes wildly in the other direction while you cheerlead on.

A brown Republican doesn't make Republican policies or conservative ideals friendly towards minorities any more than Ernst Rohm made the Nazi party gay-friendly.

"I see more intolerance from the LGBTQ community for being a Republican than I feel from the Republican community for being gay"

Buddy, if you can't figure out why the LGBTQ community doesn't like you for identifying with and helping the party whose leaders want to have them all sent to concentration camps - including you, dumbass, the moment you're no longer useful - then you're beyond helping.

I suspect you're also an attention whore who loves all the attention that being "edgy" gets you. Dollar bet you're also a perpetual martyr, always and forever put upon, always betrayed and attacked by all those other horrible, nasty unreasonable people who won't just agree that you're always right.

We have people like you on Fark... most of us have learned not to take their hysterical whining or delusions too seriously.

/That said, you are less likely to get shiat from a young Republican - if you can find one - than an old Democrat for being LGBTQ

Prank Call of Cthulhu: "I bet they'll let me help dig the mass grave, and then they'll throw me in last!"

Not necessarily. If you're evil enough, ala Stephen Miller, you'll always be useful to the party.

They turn on the naive dupes, as they're the ones who aren't expecting the turn. Miller is a lot of things, but he's not naive like this guy sounds like.

Doesn't understand.  Is a Republican.  How is this even news worthy?  I thought Republicans not understanding is like the essence of being a Republican.
