I haven't listened to Jay-Z in a long time but his latest album had some bangers on it.

I believe that there is a typo in the headline. The word "song" should be in quotes.

Super hot take, worth absolutely nothing: Jay and Beyonce's continued dedication to 'consumerism = success' & brand whoring, despite reaching icon status long, long ago, makes me uncomfortable.

Pharrell has quite a career progression from co-producing one of the best drug rap albums of the 2000s (Hell Hath No Fury) to now one of his biggest exposures is singing about reading books with Elmo (it's Sesame Street's top YT video right above ABCs with Usher).

The Neptunes basically defined how pop radio sounded for a few years then. Jay-Z however ran his well dry long ago in terms of anything to say, but similar to any other genre he still gets a lot of mileage out of a big catalog of hits.

The concept of unity and cooperation through the lens of resource competition.
Same fantasy bs every capitalist sweeps.

Breaks down too fast:

1: entrepreneurs only show up when there is money to be made, and meeting needs is a big one of those, like food.
If an entrepreneur could not personally profit from feeding a child, they'd let it go hungry. For an entrepreneur  the is no point in feeding anyone if there is not a personal profit to be made in it.
+
2: The only thing a capitolist hates more than a communist is a competitor. They will champion for the "free" market all day every day, with words. But in action all day every day, they only ever seek to remove and block any competition to them on the market. Obviously actions that in no way at all seek to keep a market open and free, but exactly the opposite, to seek to entierly control a market segment, without any competition there.

"The song is trying to communicate that when we stick together, treat each other better and welcome each other, there's more...opportunity for everyone"

Doesn't sound like Rush at all

...can the sentient Arby's hat sort you into Hufflepuff?
