A little geography lesson Subs. Loyalton is in California and that is a) where the fire is and b) NWS Reno is issuing the warning because there is no NWS Station in that area of California. Reno is in no danger. At least for now anyway.

Geography lesson from someone about an hour away:

The Loyalton fire spread to Truckee Valley, i.e. Reno, you idiot.

Yeah I'm an idiot. I don't live in Nevada and I have no access to many wildfire mapping resources. Nice try though!

Found the problem. It's in Northern Nevada and the smoke is drifting over Reno. That's why I saw smoke yesterday and this morning before the storms rolled in.

Sorry about that. The smoke's making me sick and I forgot to eat, so I was being a douche. I thought you'd just picked up on where it started and not where it had ended up--it's already jumped state lines and is headed in the direction of Reno, and I thought it was near Reno.

Drove from NE Sparks to SoCal today, where the air is slightly better. Yesterday looked a LOT like that summer where the plume from the Sierra fire (200 miles south) socked us in. Frankly, the collective fire departments on both sides of the Sierra Nevadas are worth their weight in gold.

I look forward to reading a headline in 6 days to 19 years from now when this trifecta is complete. And all the confused young farkers who know nothing of the previous news, and know not of the dangers of plank spacing on seats.

It was submitted when there was another fire tornado thread on 5he page. It didn't get greenlighted for many hours, then got delayed being put on the page by something like another 12 hours. So, blame the mods for greenlighting a trifecta thread and then not putting it on the page until it didn't meet your qualifications.

Okay, subby.  I've been sick.  Non-covid, but still ghastly and you come up with "spread of a larger area"?  After barfing my guts out for days, there's no way I'm drinking what you are.  This is just grammatical cruelty of the highest order.  You've irked me, subby.  I am irked   I find you irksome.  There's enough irk in me to harumph and scowl.   It's not a good look on me.

I did one of those online questionnaires that reveals my ideal retirement City. I was shocked that it came up Reno.

My sis lives there. Been a few times.

The people butthurt over typos are much worse than the usual grammar nazis here. Also, the mods could've been kind enough to fix a typo, but I guess that'd be against their best interests, because they generate comments like yours.
