Some cool drone footage from a previous Duck Derby. We're making it a mostly non-public event for safety, but will stream it live online. (That is, we can't keep anyone from attending in City Park, but we're not making it a mini-fest, no vendors, etc.)

Also: Whether or not you get a Duck in our fundraiser, I also I highly encourage your support of your local food bank. We are a part of Feeding America, an association of the 200 largest food banks in the US. FA food banks service every zip code in all 50 states. Our model (generally) is to take in millions of pounds a food a year, then redistribute to smaller neighborhood food pantries, churches, shelters, etc.

You're certainly not in my zip code, 96708. Look it up. If I'm wrong, tell me please. The FB I usually go to has had bare shelves, or nearly so, for a long time, every time I go there, so I've given up, but the need remains.

CSB: A friend was staying at the Paris hotel in Vegas and there was some event going on where you could buy a duck, let it go in the "canal" and whoever crossed the finish line first won a pizza.  He asked if there were any restrictions on putting your duck in the canal, so he waited until everyone else dropped theirs in and he reared back and threw his as far as he could downstream.

Well if you adopt a duck they may let you put sparklers and a dress on yours. :)

Brilliant! But, ours are dropped out of a really big dump truck all at the same time. :)

Until last year Eugene, Oregon's Rotary Club had an annual duck race with the proceeds going to stop child abuse. The ducks were loaded into a clean dumpster, which was hoisted up by a crane, then the ducks were dumped into the Mill Race.

I will drop it off at the post office tomorrow.  I never win things, so it is an anonymous duck adoption.

Sadly after 30 years the Rotary Club discontinued the annual duck race. Apparently there were leadership issues, but in those 30 years they raised $7 million to fight child abuse. :(
