A cop actually protected the public?  Well, he's fired.

Bummer.
I I wonder if he was trying to commit suicide?

Yeah, that plus the giant blurry box makes me think there was a serious leg injury.

Could have just been trying to cross and got a wheel stuck. Railroad crossings tend to have more spots that'd catch a wheel that the average sidewalk, and electric wheelchairs are HEAVY so it'd be basically impossible for someone that uses one to un-stick it themselves.

Any chance she could have drove past him and reversed and pushed him off the tracks? LOL.
Okay. Guess not. Sounded better in head.
This is my nite off. Drink. Drink.

So the irony of that is that you might be stuck in a Catch-22 in some instances.  In some jurisdictions government might not issue carry permits unless you're a wealthy donor, but you can't sue the government if it doesn't protect you individually.

So he can't sue her for wasting time failing to move his chair and thus bearing responsibility for his injured leg.  Works for me

Instances like this are why suicide is a crime, if that was the case.  Don't involve others in your dark moments.

Honestly that is what I was thinking.  It looked like the guy was just stopped on the tracks and pointing away from the oncoming train. It didnt look like he was trying to cross.  Hope that if he was suicidal he gets help.  Good on the cop for saving him.

This..   bikers know to avoid crevices and road joints, or they learn very quickly.... users of skinny wheels cross at 90 degree angles.. this guy was parallel to the rails, and the wheel fell in and got stuck.. thanks to the cop, he survived.

Saw the train coming, tried to turn around and a wheel dropped into the gap by the rail.. if he had just reversed, probably would have made it .. wheelchairs and bicycles, stay perpendicular to crevices..

So strange.

The front wheels on those things are pretty small and swivel-ly.  I can see one of those getting stuck, and then the chair getting turned sideways by trying to get it unstuck.

Back wheels, too... center larger wheel is the drive, turning happens by stopping or reversing one drive wheel, via the stick control.  Same principal as a tank ..

I was shocked how easy they get stuck. Had to help a guy outside a Hobby Lobby once. Dip in front caught him. He went across and  the wheel chairs third set of wheels (keeps ya from popping a wheely at the wrong time) had caught him. His front and third wheels were on both sides of the dip and the powered wheels dangled above the bottom of the dip.

Same. Friend and I had to help push a guy out of a rut, because his back wheel got stuck in a hole between the street and sidewalk apron (crossing an intersection). It was the same size as the tire and it was late at night, so he he was just sitting there trying to rock it out while people kept driving past. Who knows for how long he was there.
