People need to watch more nature documentaries and fewer Disney movies.

Would this be considered an idiot tax?

When the bison was flinging her around, I wonder if it occurred to her to re-examine the chain of decisions that led her to that point.

I accidentally got a little to close to a bison once (it was obstructed by foliage).  15 short feet away I notice this majestic creature.  It took a natural looking step and the ground shook beneath my feet.  I could not stop thinking about the cup of water in Jurassic Park, so I politely asked it not to eat me and "ran" away at a blinding 1inch per minute.

If you cannot cover the bison with one of your finger nails, you are too close.

Dumb b*tch got off way too easily.

Alternatively, you can go to the Olympic Game Farm in Sequim, WA and let them drool all over your car:

She's a 54-year old biker that went to Sturgis during a lethal pandemic. I don't think consequences are something she thinks about much.

I watched an ahole, attempt to intentionally drive his huge dually through a small group crossing the road once.  It was only maybe 40-50 head or so.  He was doing at least 65mph untill he made contact.  The truck only touched two bison, and one actually walked away (but still had to be put down regardless).

Well, there's your problem.

She didn't want her calf smelling like that. I don't blame her.

If the woman had just put talcum powder on her hands first, and then put talcum powder on the bisons nose everything would have been just fine.

Zero sympathy for a woman sneaking up to get a closer picture of a bison and it's nursing calf. I don't know what she expected, but she's an idiot.

There's actually a series of videos shot by the same lady who took this. The last 2 are of a park ranger somehow getting the pants from the bison (whether they dropped or he was able to grab them, you can't really tell) and then him bringing them back, which was nice. He didn't seem amused or sympathetic at all.

These are wild animals and should be treated as such. If they wanted to pet animals and get pictures with them that's what the donkeys are for at Custer.

Thankfully, Africa is far away and expensive to get to. Otherwise, you'd have a lot more scenes like this of dumbasses trying to pet baby lions or driving too close to hippos and rhinos.

I can't even imagine.
I came face to face with a doe white tailed deer many years ago when I was out collecting data for my research job.  Came around a corner in the cut trail (in phragmites reed-  super tall and super dense.  Couldn't see anything except the trail cut in front of me) and came face to face with the doe using the trail as a pathway.  We both stopped dead and stared at each other.  I was shocked at how huge he was-  seeing them from the car on the side of the road is one thing,  but from like 5' away?

I slowly walked back onto the perpendicular path I had been on and she continued on her way.

A bison?  Up close?  No thanks.

RE: RE: RE: RE: FW: RE: Dear Harley Salesman,

Don't the bison know that all bikers are badass and we can do what ever we want! Gee's, we go thru all that effort of buying a $40k Harley, black leather outfits and stuff with our 401k retirement checks and these bison are so disrespectful! I need louder pipes so not only the can the bison respect my badassness, but most of the other animals in the park as well!

PS: Why do Honda riders always point and laugh at me while I'm on my trike?

You can also have that experience at Custer State Park where that happened.

We had bison getting close enough to the car to the point where I was contemplating the increase in my insurance rates from the resulting claim.

Never understood why someone would want to ride a motorcycle along that loop. No protection from the MASSIVE herds, and also the noise just scares away other animal life.

I've made it a point to make sure my son stays quiet whenever we have the chance to potentially see animals in the wild. It increases the chance you'll see them, and it keeps them calm. Only exception to this is if there are potentially bears in the area.

The areas in Yellowstone where we saw them seemed like good places for them, but Custer State Park (which this happened) is the BEST Bison watching you'll ever see of a heard.

Also, the Bison in Custer are descended from Yellowstone and some purebred Bison from a Zoo in NYC.

After you see the herds in Custer, seeing them elsewhere is still cool, but not quite as amazing.
