Even if Biden wins, if he doesn't take the Senate with him McConnell will make it his first priority for him to be a one-term President.

Investors are correctly betting that whatever tax cuts there are, they will be relatively minor thanks to Republican obstructionism.

Was it him, or some other R Senator, who said that exact same thing about Obama?

Remember back when Obama implemented his "tax the rich" scheme, and he said it would affect only those making $250,000 or more? The Republicans came back and said, "No, this will affect couples making as little as $75,000 a year." Well, guess what, My wife (a teacher) and I (a community journalist) saw our income taxes go up $3,000 a year - and we made less than $80,000 between the two of us. Trump comes around, and all of a sudden we get a $3,000 tax refund. Seeing is believing ... but go ahead and believe what any Inside the Beltway or On Manhattan Media tell you.

"...enough goofing around money to invest in the stock market " = has a 401k. We're not all as rich as the Pelosi's and Kerry's and Clinton's and Obama's  and de Blasio's but we're not all burying it in the backyard or speculating in bitcoin, either.

And for that money you got a functioning government, competent pandemic response team, and a stable economy, among other things.

Now you have your $3k, a likely loss of employment, and a pandemic-ridden workplace for your wife. Hope tax cuts cover your medical expenses. Healthcare didn't get any cheaper as a result of some tweets.

Hmm, google "net worth"

Nancy Pelosi $29 million
Bill Clinton  $90 million
Bill deBlasio $1.6 million

Betsy DeVos $1 billion.
Yeah, no one is as rich as those elitist Democrats.

And your money in your 401k or IRA is already tax-advantaged.  And if you're in the over-$400k income bracket anyone is actually talking about, your 401k (max contribution - 5% or less of your income) is almost superfluous.

To be fair, the odds were correct...that's what the 10% chance was for, if outside governments or republicans committed voter fraud.

That doesn't mean the odds were accurate. They could have given Trump a 1% chance or a 20% chance and you could still say the same thing.

Giving something a 1 in 10 chance and then having it happen doesn't mean the odds were inaccurate, either. Less likely things happen all the time. That doesn't mean they were likely.

Given his declining cognition, if Biden wins he'll likely be a fractional-term President. I actually wouldn't be all that surprised if the party doesn't find a way to ditch him before the November election and substitute somebody else.
