The Murdoch-owned rag called the NY Post is so very concerned. Fark those Trump-humping idiots.

They're still gonna have reporters. Everyone was working remotely already. This just saves them some rent money.

An awful lot of businesses are going to rethink their need for physical space in the coming months.  I would hate to be the owner of a lot of commercial real estate in a big city right now.

The Orlando Sentinel is getting ready to bail out of its offices, too. They've been in the same location for almost 70 years, and were having trouble even before COVID hit. They owe hundreds of thousands of dollars in back rent, and even with all of their staff working from home, they're not making any more money.

They might still have reporters, but not as many of them. You can see that just from how long it takes the main web page to cycle new stories in and old stories out, and how often they completely miss some stories. The day after the big explosion in Beirut, there was no coverage except for a minor sidebar, well down the page.

All of the old-style news organizations are in trouble, and they're mostly doing all of the wrong things to get out of the pit they're in.
