I watched it a few years ago - as a music lover, it was fascinating. I recommend the Muscle Shoals documentary, too!

So the west coast version of the Funk Brothers. Got it. Looks good, I'll check it out.

Both are great. There's a Stax documentary as well that's pretty good, it may have been called The Blues Brothers, something like that :-)

100% agreed on both of those.

Other necessities for music lovers:

Standing in the Shadows of Motown
Hitsville: The Making of Motown (2019 Showtime Documentary)
20 Feet From Stardom
Sound City
Quincy (QJ documentary directed by his daughter Rashida Jones)

agreed.  both are good; as a pet sounds-era fan of the beach boys / phil spector wall of sound, i watched  the wrecking crew doc to find out more about some of the working cogs in that era;  its a really interesting dive into old school music production.

The pro-tools generation wouldn't be able to handle those recording methods!

It's a great documentary and you know kind of a shame in the music industry that that part isn't around anymore since almost everything's done with computers. A lot of talent in that room.

I only understand this because Joey "CoCo" Diaz was talking about being in the remake.
