So when can we start the type of misogynistic attacks on Harris that are and were common here on Fark about Sarah Palin?

The previous administration cancelled the constellation program.
For its faults it was still a moon/mars program to replace the shuttle, which had big and beneficial implications for the space frontier.
The present administration has restarted the moon program under Artemis while also bringing the first commercial programs to fruition. Both have become a target for the left since space has become associated with Trump. The space force would obviously be shut down, regardless of our space security front continuing to deteriorate, because Trump touched it. That's the kind of childishness I've come to expect from Democrats.
Biden never had much interest in space.  His only big brain suggestion was to can manned spaceflight for robots and have China to run the ISS.
Hence I don't have much hope in seeing a black woman inherit a moon program if she's just going to shut it down. She'll Think of all the private prisons she could buy with our space exploration money and make a decision in her own best interest.

Space needs to become fully commercial in order to free it from the political cycle.  The next few years is critical to that as NASA is quietly taking steps away from sls and towards reusable launchers.
If that development money vanished then it would be a massive setback. We'd be stuck with sls and ula as private developers fight over a handful of commercial contracts.
That would be a damn shame considering how close we are to breaking the back of the cost-plus crowd.

I think we are very, very, close. Spacex just rubbed BO and ULA's nose in the mud with a big defense contract win. If the spaceforce fails to get going then a large part of the money accelerating private spaceflight is going to stagnate.

She'll probably ask SpaceX if they can charge more money to send things to space for the government. Any amount will do, as long as it's more

Too late, the bean thread folks on the food tab already made humus out of the farker.

My takeaway from that is the current person overseeing our space program is...
Mike Pence

Space Force clearly has his fingerprints all over it.

The council probably gets canned because it really doesn't serve a purpose. Space Force will get a name change and logo redesign but its obviously needed over the long term so it will stay around.

Artemis has already been paid for and will do a moon shot during their term, it will not be cancelled before that but Boeing and the rest of oldspace will face a reckoning over shoddy work at extremely inflated prices.

The only actual change likely to happen is Jim Bridenstone will be turfed. Which is sad because he is the only Trump appointee who managed his department effectively, saved money and fired high level people for ethics violations. He is kinda the Shindler amongst the Nazis.

Musk and SpaceX are not likely to be much of an issue. For real, he is personally right wing and also for real an extreme environmentalist, he has spent more money and done more to improve Climate Change (via Tesla) than anyone else on the planet. Plus, he has already saved the Government billions on launches and will continue to do so. If you are actually a progressive leftist, what he is doing, why he is doing it and how he is doing it is are all about as progressive leftist as possible in a capitalist society. I suspect that the multi billion dollar continuous attack on him from the hate machine will generate far more sympathy amongst politicians who have also been subjected to it.

Who has rung in the new space flight council, the space command (now space force), and new era of US manned space flight.
His predecessor, Joe Biden, watched all these things end.

/He's been in politics so long he even saw the end of the last moon program.

What does Space Force do that Space Command was not already doing?

Existing.
Space command was "deemphasized" after 2001 and it's duties shuffled into different alphabet groups by 2005.
It re-emerged in 2017 as the ball got rolling on "Space Force".

The problem is that space, as a theatre of operations, has been shuffled around under different branches by various political demands. That shuffling needed to stop and they'd been trying to make that happen for decades.
Trump steps in and says "just do it, it'll be great!". I doubt he cared about the nuance of space politics.

Systemically it means the same thing as moving the air force out from under the army. Technically they're more like marines but it still means they have a more independent budget and first dibs on other branches space operations. You can now organize space operations as a cohesive thing.
Space command couldn't do that.
