Some of the crew too, based off the DC Entertainment bloodbath.

Lot of Ross-inspired shots in the finale.

(Yes, I know he's been an influence throughout the season)

Also, not really a spoiler since I don't know what they are, but for the few of us in this thread, there are two post-credit scenes, apparently.

Who is with me?

In addition to what should've been psycholgically traumatic for a kid his age, it also shows up that the villains basically did themselves in with stupidity that was out of character to what had been shown before.

Brainwave (who'd never been shown to illusion-cast before) tries to fool Wildcat by impersonating his son, instead of telekinetically ripping her apart or blowing out her brain from a distance? And he can't use his telekinesis on himself (even though we've seen him levitate, I do believe) to hold a severed a carotid artery together?

Icicle is deadly enough and a willing-enough murderer to take out his own very powerful (assuming he was as much like his comics version as the others have been) teammate The Wizard singlehandedly, but actually turns to ice (not just coating himself with frost) which makes him vulnerable to being shattered by anything hard or strong which would've included several still active (even if S.T.R.I.P.E. had been ripped apart already)? And tries to convince Barbara to join his side?

We are talking here about the team of villains who took out the entire experienced JSA in the opening minutes of the season.

One of the things I was hoping would happen would be that Mike would save the day but in a different way. The kid has shown that he's pretty fearless. What if he were the successor to Alan Scott's lantern and ring, which we saw in the JSA HQ?

'Evil is self-defeating' and 'Lure the Good Girl/Guy to the Dark Side' are old Pulp/Comics tropes, so while I agree in principle, I'm not really upset. I mean, the whole series is a modernized Golden Age story, so it all fits.

Overall, it was fun. Good mix of dramatics and action, without getting bogged down in either one. Well-balanced.

For Season 2? I'm guessing...
-Mike gets the Green Lantern ring
-Alan Scott's kids, Jade and Obsidian show up and join the new JSA
-Mike's buddy Jakeem (that he mentioned in an episode) gets the Thunderbolt pen
-Starman gets the cosmic Staff back, Courtney gets the Cosmic Control Belt
-Possible appearances by Crimson Avenger & Vigilante as Justin searches for the Seven Soldiers
-Possible appearance by Gimmix (Merry's (Brainwave's wife, Starman's sister) daughter & Starman's niece)
-Shade is the Big Bad for the season; Eclipso is the link threat for the next crossover event

It's hilarious to think of Tuba Turd inheriting his mom's powers and holding someone immobile by playing his tuba.

And it's too bad their map of the tunnels didn't reveal that door under the football field.  They could have just gathered there and destroyed the transmitter instead of going into the tunnels.

Just watched on app. Great finale, but I hope they didn't blow the budget with the sfx this season. I hear tell there's a billionaire playboy in Gotham that likes to donate to worthy causes though, so there's that.
Side note, Mike comes in at the end there and takes out icicle and says "am I a member of the JSA now?"
They still have a couple spots to fill and could it be possible he could take one in season 2?
Hopefully they will also get Chuck online as well, he was able to help Beth open up with the others I thought and become more assertive over the course of the season.

Cool speculations.

Eclipso as the next Crossover link threat? Makes sense since Eclipso: The Darkness Within was well after Crisis on Infinite Earths (glad they're not going with Armageddon: 2001 both because it's outdated [stated year then in the future, now in the past, and it really was an Armageddon of sorts for the USA, sadly, but I'd be straying into PolTab territory to elaborate further] and because them changing Monarch's identity in mid-stream really sucked and utterly ruined it).

The fanfic I referred to above was basically a sequel to A:2001, E:TDW, and Invasion! (the three most recent crossovers when I wrote it back in 1992 and revised it in 1993−4 or thereabouts) that sought to fix those and make it look like DC had planned all along for those to be merely prequels to something much bigger, encompasing all of them and setting up a truly dire threat to the heroes. It would've happened the year Zero Hour did (1994), causing that to be delayed one year (1995, a decade after Crisis on Infinite Earths which it was supposed to be a sort of sequel to itself, thus I think it'd've been more appropriate to have it ) and itself very much improved over what we got (Extant would not have been Hank Hall, but a much more serious threat that was based on existing DC continuity).

fusillade762: And it's too bad their map of the tunnels didn't reveal that door under the football field. They could have just gathered there and destroyed the transmitter instead of going into the tunnels.

Yeah, that's almost up there with "Why not just have the Eagles (or even an Eagle) fly the One Ring to Mount Doom?"

See above speculations on that subject from yours truly and RFG. I think he'd make a nice ringer ― in more than one sense.

Yeah, no one even mentions Mike is now a murderer.

Killing in defense of self or others isn't murder. It's justifiable homicide. Also, he had no way of knowing that that would kill him. The car wasn't going that fast, and hitting a normal person at that speed would mess them up, probably for life, but not likely kill them. He had no way of knowing that that would happen to him.

/Speaking of which, Icicle really seemed to have it together for most of the series. I hated to see him just go all to pieces like that.

Half the people in the show are murderers. Their first encounter with Dragon King's minions they were slaughtering them left and right.

Besides, Icicle isn't dead.  If there is one thing I've learned from comic books is that if a character transforms into a living substance and that substance is then shattered then they will slowly reform once everybody is convinced they are long dead.

I buy that they were able to beat the Injustice Society this time around.  The JSA did something that they didn't do in their first fight and the original JSA didn't do in the first episode.  They fought as a team. Watch that battle and every time one of the new JSA hits a villain across the room they hit them directly towards a waiting teammate who intercepts the flying villain with a hit of their own.  In the two previous fights both the current and previous JSA were fighting one on one in separate rooms. Plus the ISA was down Weather Wizard and Fiddler this time.

I loved the bit at the end with Courtney and Pat flying around for fun. I can't think of another series where the characters are using their powers just because it's fun. It's always combat or training or patrolling.
