It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad.  I'm sure there'll be many more to come.

The Lincoln Project seems to be better at sticking it to Trump and the Republicans.  It's their passion.

You shouldn't trust an enemy of your enemy. You definitely shouldn't trust an ally with land adjacent to yours. Assume that every other power is your enemy and you can be pleasantly surprised on occasion.

/ if you win, you can write in the history books about what great friends and good people you were

Okay, sure. As soon as the Democrats manage to do something good as this Lincoln Project, let me know.  We only have 3 months.  You realize that, right?

They couldn't be snarky with this one. They also had to convince Republican voters the Black woman wasn't a threat.

I don't give a crap what the Lincoln Project thinks about the VP pick. The only good thing they do is amplify Trump's inept boobishness to the other Republicans who still somehow haven't figured that out on their own.

Harris, Rice, Warren, Duckworth, Abrams, Bass.

"In these uncertain times, we need leadership that isn't afraid to ask the tough questions. What is life? Can I manifest things for myself through wishes? Why don't I try these crystals? That's why Joe Biden picked, Marianne Williamson, a proven thought leader, that isn't afraid to buck the status quo."

You can appreciate the Lincoln Project's pot shots at Trump, but only idiots donate to them.  They're still Republicans and contributed to the last 20ish years of sh*tty GOP policy and attacks on Dems.

Dayummm. It's been some time since I've seen that kind of positivity and such little character assassination in a political ad.

Interesting how they're labelling Harris as strong and Biden as compassionate.

This is almost the reverse of the gender norms for public political campaigns.

Note, I'm not saying this is bad, bit I noticed it and it's a noteworthy feature of this ad.

I wonder if this is what the official Biden Harris camping will run with?

Absolutely.  There were about 5 sentences that were directly related to Kamala, and about 20 seconds of footage in a 90 second video.  With that much interchangeability, they almost certainly had these prepped for the top dozen possibilities.

I don't disagree that messaging on the Dem side is....less than spectacular.

I am pointing out that things that sound too good to be true usually are. That you should always question the motives of someone who would share water with you in a desert. That very few people do things out of the kindness of their hearts.

I agree that we should definitely accept their help. But, I'm advocating that we watch them and stab them in the back before they stab us in the back.

"In these uncertain times, America wants predictability more than ever. As events around us seen to spiral into chaos on a more and more consistent basis, America needs normalcy. After 4 years of Trump, America needs a Vice President who makes Mike Pence seem like Hugh Hefner. That's why Joe Biden chose the Minnesota normalcy and Midwestern calm of Amy Klobuchar."

It plays better with the age issue that Biden has.

You can't say "BIDEN STRONK!" because Biden also old.
Since Harris also a woman, they go with the opposite of that: "HARRIS STRONK!"Harris strong, Biden compassionate.

2020-08-11 6:26:44 PM
Actions speak louder than words.

And I'm grateful to the Lincoln Project for their assistance in this fight so long as their actions continue to to match their words as they've done so far. Hopefully their long term goal of reforming the GOP in to a saner party - after making sure to push its head into a storm drain for a while - works out. I mean, I still won't vote for a Republican, but it will be better for the country to have one of our two viable political parties not literally be a criminally run-enterprise, with our nation's first mob boss POTUS at the head.

2020-08-11 6:27:00 PM
I kinda wish it had been Elizabeth Warren only to see how the Lincoln project would choke down their bile and cut a positive ad for her.

Let's not kid ourselves, it would have been almost the exact same script and images. Just Elizabeth, Tulsi, or Hillary spliced in.

Trump is only 2 years different in age than Biden, and in far worse shape both physically and mentally.

You really don't need to repeat this "Biden's age problem" GOP bullshiat for them.

If they don't, they're fools.

At the end of the day, the biggest strength Joe Biden brings to the table is his compassion. Yeah, he's smart, but there have been a lot of smart people in D.C. who weren't worth a damn. Biden may trip over his own tongue a lot, but he also gives a damn.

Meanwhile, Kamala may have had her flaws, but she's never going to say she backed down from a fight.

Truth be told, I dig this team.
