The best thing about Scorsese's movies are the sharp corners.

This Scorsese character makes good movies, I'm just sort of tired of Robert Deniro mob movies.

Scorsese should try a goofball buddy cop film or a light rom-com!

I just realized that despite sitting through all 17 hours of the Irishman I can't remember ten seconds of the movie.

I've never seen any of the Godfather movies. I did watch the Irishman, but because of how mind numbingly boring the Irishman was, there is no way I will ever watch any of the Godfather movies. Seriously that movie was awful. I wish I could say that I don't remember it, but I do, I just wish I didn't. And no its not because it wasn't a shoot em up explosion Michael Bay type movie that I didn't like it. I didn't like it because it was absolutely BORING.

/favorite movies are Finding Forester and The Red Violin

I enjoyed the movie.  A little slow in spots, maybe, and the scene with DeNiro kicking the guy in the street just shows how old Bobby has become, but overall I enjoyed it.

And to live up to my name I'll say the book was way better, which they almost always are anyhow.

/Maybe I know a guy, who knows a guy, who knows a guy that may have been an IRL person portrayed in the movie.

Somebody needs to make a zombie/mob movie where some mob underlings unknowingly steal a shipment of salvaged medical equipment from a Chinese lab that turns out to contain a dangerous virus that turns them into mob zombies and no one notices until it's too late.

The Godfather is Francis Ford Coppola's baby.

Yeah, I did.  In 1985.  Maybe he should try again?

It's the wide screen cinematography and editing that really shine on the big screen, Marty.

If you'd watch the Godfather, you'll be saying to Francis Ford Coppola, "you're the man now, dog."

Hope this helps explain why you should watch it.

Roger Ebert would have changed his mind with Red Dead Redemption II. And I don't care, I'm still gonna enjoy Marvel movies no matter who tells it's "wrong."

Me too.  We got it free for a year so we activated it and for the life of me I couldn't find anything to watch. I'm debating watching that Tom Hanks submarine movie but other than that there's just nothing on there

His first movie for Apple+ isn't going to be a 4 hour movie about elderly gangsters: it'll be an adaptation of the book Killers of the Flower Moon, about how the Osage people in Oklahoma came into possession of a massive oil field, and the hell that broke out because of that.

it's a spectacular book.

/the movie will probably still be 4 hours long

You're taunting us into making a case for why Deuce Bigelow is better than The Irishman.  Genius.  Having seen both but probably cleaned up and read something else during both movies, I say I have to admire The Irishman more since I was able to get 4 loads of laundry done with enough time to put in a third bathroom, versus the mere sink full of dishes I washed during Schneider's magnum opus.

Also an apple dork but yeah,... not much on the (+). We did watch morning show and it's worth trying, but I never even think to go into the app and Apple TV is our streaming device.  Unrelated, we just binged high maintenance on the home box office and it's incredible. No idea how that show escaped us.

You won't watch an entirely different film in a different style and, arguably, a different genre, made by a different person using different actors, because you didn't like the work of a dude who made some (very good in the case of Goodfellas, but still) off-genre knockoffs of that movie decades later?

... well, I guess you're saving a lot of shelf space in your TV cabinet, at least, since you intend never to watch any even mildly influential movie ever.

I will get a free trial at some point, just to watch the Beastie Boys thing they did.  But I'm waiting unti, hopefully, they have more things that I want to see

For Scorsese, Raging Bull counts as a light rom-com.
