Well there was already a ghost in the first one. Poor little boy who jumped out the apartment window, hanging out behind the curtains all by himself. Really sad stuff, gave that movie such a tragic turn.

Are they hoping this 2nd remake makes more money than the 1st?

When I was a kid, myself and a shiat-load of friends watched it for this one afternoon.  We sat watching the background forever as we didn't know anything other than there was some creepy kid in the background somewhere.  When the scene finally hit everyone freaked.  There was a good mix of girls there as well so screams were had (which covered up the guy's screams nicely).

"A" Tom Selleck? Not "The" Tom Selleck?

/Ted Danson was the ghost anyway

Nine times out of ten it's a Ted Danson, but every once in a while, it's a Tom Selleck.   Of course it's company policy never to, imply ownership in the event of a Tom Selleck... always use the indefinite article "A Tom Selleck", never "Your Tom Selleck".

When we were kids and watched that movie, my sister saw that right away.  To this day, that is the first time I've seen it.  I think it has been removed from rereleases though.

Anything can be A Tom Selleck if you are desperate enough.

Yes - cuz the trope of males incompetently fumbling through childcare will never be deemed as sexist or insulting.

Comedy gold.

I never understood why this movie was so immensely popular when it came out. Three grown men struggle with a baby's diaper. Ho, ho! I guess that's just what audiences wanted during the 1987 holiday season. Makes sense that it was quickly forgotten and the only thing people remember about the movie is the so-called ghost in the window.

On the list of movies that never, ever need to be re-made, 3 Men and a Baby is right up there.

Right. Up there.

"Hey, you want a beer?"
"It's nine o'clock in the morning!"
::thoughtful pause:: "Scotch?"

It was on Disney and I remembered liking their apartment so I watched it with my kid. The apartment is still cool, but the movie is so sexist and of course there's a heroin smuggling subplot. And not to sound like a Qanonloon, but those diaper and bath scenes were graphic.

Ironic considering that 3 Men and a Baby is itself, a remake

Why don't they just continue the original series?  The last one was "Three Men and A Little Lady".  This one could be "Three Old Men and A Traumatized Woman".

So I take it you missed Three Men and the Countdown to Her Eighteenth Birthday.

That was OldFark, and we don't talk about that any more. ANY MORE.

As a stay at home dad, Im saddened that by 2020 we aren't beyond the trope of "MEN TAKING CARE OF A BABY?!?!  WHAT??!!!"

I got called Mr. Mom every day when I was raising my kids and at first I argued "no, I'm not a mom.  I'm a dad.  Doing a dads job.  Raising his kids"

But then I got sick of arguing with cashiers and old/young ladies at the supermarket and just nodded and moved on.

It probably won't. $167 million in 1987 dollars will be hard to top.

Better than being asked, "Oh so you're babysitting today?" At least with "Mr. Mom", you're still considered a parent.

/ Not speaking from personal experience.
//No kids as of yet.
///Doesn't mean I don't have your back.

Oh, I got the  "babysitting" comment all the time!

I also used to get a lot of very curious looks and "so.....where is their mother??"

I've had some pretty awful people say some pretty awful things to me, just because I was a man with 2 children.

My kids are grown now..... but thanks for the words
