So he's transitioned into "shouldn't be allowed to exist" territory.

Cook had the biggest possible shoes to fill, and he's done a fairly decent job doing so. As such, he deserves to be filthy, stinking rich. Does he deserve to to be a billionaire? No.

Nevermind the cheap labor in commie china.

Hes getting it alright.

The more the 1% takes the less for everyone else.

The wealth gap gets wider
The middle class shrinks

Crime and violence goes up

Democracy fades away

And then if it gets bad enough.....

Revolution.

Have a nice day!!

This is all based on the Federal Reserve. They are the biggest reason for the ever increasing disparity but are always overlooked.

We will watch the wealth gap continue to widen.

The middle class continue to shrink.

Big money donations to elections continue to grow larger.

Democracy continue to fade away

Unrest and violence continue to grow.

Power become concentrated into fewer and fewer hands.

And if this trend continues

Revolution or civil war.

Cheers!!

Good point.

The irony is that the 12 federal reserve banks are all private banks.

What a coincidence....

Giving money away?

That is welfare and doesnt solve the inherent problem.

It does give the rich a warm fuzzy feeling and gets them great tax breaks.

For all of Jobs' brilliance, most of Apple's market cap has come with Cook at the helm.

Welfare, Philanthropy, whatever.

Well, I suppose people with money could just say fark society and keep it all.  I suppose some do.  But not all.  I live in a little house on a quiet street in a rural area and all my neighbors think I am a broke bum.  Yet, we are funding an endowed professorship and some operating and travel expenses at the local college to give students here an opportunity to study a subject that they normally have to travel across the country for.  Now those students can stay right here if they want to, or if they can't afford to go to the expensive schools 1000 miles away.  A brand new program here.

Not all people with money are evil.  Yes, some are tirelessly driven assholes, always looking for more.   But some are just people who love what they do, and work hard and maybe get lucky.   That's me.

I worked my ass off since the day I turned 15 just to be able to have the same stuff the average middle class kids in my school had.  I did some crappy jobs along the way.  I decided work took up too much of my day to do something that made me miserable, and I decided to never let a boss hold a paycheck over me as justification to change my principles.

Which means, I told a few bosses where they could go.  I stuck to what I thought was right, and moved up in my field.  And then I got lucky.  Really, really lucky.  So, I stopped working at 50 when I had more $$$$$s than I'll ever need, and let some of the younger folks get a little bit higher up the ladder.

Somewhere along the way I figured out I didn't need a whole lot to be happy.  Now, I just volunteer, and help people, and try to make things better for all of us, and try to learn something new every day.

iamskibibitz: For all of Jobs' brilliance, most of Apple's market cap has come with Cook at the helm.

Yup. Cook hasn't done a single thing innovative, but the shareholders love him. At the time of Jobs's death, Apple was around $250-300B in market valuation. Now, it's 6-7x that. In 8 years. Most companies that big wallow with 2-3x growth over several decades. Microsoft under Ballmer's "leadership" grew slightly less than 1x. Microsoft under current CEO Satya Nadella has grown big, and equally quickly (faster than Apple, perhaps).

I don't fault Cook for his millions. He made the old-fashioned way: he earned them by selling products people want to buy. He's not sitting on some economic rent business model (although the AppStore is sort of that). Microsoft does sit on economic rent through their licensing to the governments. Still, they moved to new revenue streams, which is nice of them.

I thought Donnieboy forced Cook to legally change his name to Tim Apple.
