I'm pretty sure subby picked the wrong article to make his anti-DNC pitch.

Yeah, because the GOP elites who picked from Las Vegas did such a bang-up f*cking job, right?

LOL

Shut up.

It's also true that younger voters, and especially younger voters of color, have long been cool to Biden's candidacy. Putting a Black woman on the ticket doesn't suddenly turn them into Biden stans. But, it does at least say to these voters that he understands the important role that Black voters and, specifically, Black women play in the party. Putting the first woman of color on a major party ticket would also help mute the very unhistoric candidacy of yet another older, white guy.

I'm all for a woman of color, but let's not pretend that Warren isn't also very popular with younger voters of color.

Dusk-You-n-Me: I'm all for a woman of color, but let's not pretend that Warren isn't also very popular with younger voters of color.

From May:

According to the May 22-26 survey, 26 percent of registered voters said placing her on the ticket would make them more likely to vote for Biden, while 23 percent said it would make them less likely to back him. Her positive impact on Biden increased among voters under the age of 45, who view Warren in a more favorable light than they do Biden, as well as black and Hispanic voters.

Link

From July:

Senator Elizabeth Warren remains the frontrunner among voters for the vice-presidential nomination, including among undecided and unenthusiastic voters

In a head-to-head matchup with Senator Kamala Harris, voters prefer Warren over Harris for the vice-presidential nomination by a six percentage point margin

Voters aged 18-29 that self-identify as Democrats prefer Warren over Harris by a 13 percentage point margin

You mean a minority of black people.

So we got to pick the white person that white people want. But it's ok because a minority of black people like her?

How does that work?

I think it was shameful how the primary voters STOLE their votes from Bernie and HANDED them to Biden.

No, we shouldn't let people who know fark all make decisions for us. Nor should we let people who have never wanted for anything in their life make decisions for us. You know, "it's one banana Michael, what could it cost? Ten dollars?"

I swear to God, Trumpkins.

Your "Elitists" include scientists, academics, journalists, historians, and anyone else capable of offering a counterpoint to GOP propaganda.

Who does that leave for the information stream?  Your god-king and his hand-picked state media.

Your "Elitists"?  Listen to them for your own farking sake.

The correct answer is Tulsi.  Everyone loves Tulsi.  Whenever Tulsi is not around, everyone asks "Where's Tulsi?"  Tulsi is the obvious choice.  Tulsi.

There are a lot of great potential picks, but the VP pick needs to be a Black woman this year.  Because Biden needs to say with his pick that Black lives really do matter.

That narrows it down to Harris and Rice, IMO.  I wouldn't pick Abrams or Bass this year.

And picking Harris after she owned him in that one debate would say a lot.

Typical.

Right now this is more beneficial for Biden. He's getting free air time, and it puts the Trump campaign into a partial holding pattern because they don't know who the other person to attack is at this time. Not to mention it's got to be frustrating to Donnie to not have someone to attack.

JDAT: Warren may be the best choice.

Look, I like Warren as much as the next Democrat, and would have probably supported her if she was still in the race at the time of NY's primary, but...I can't support her as VP.

Biden would already be the oldest president at inauguration, in history.  He's suggested that he would likely serve only a single term.  Picking another septuagenarian as running-mate would just be stupid.

He needs to pick someone substantially younger, who will be set up to run as his endorsed candidate in four years.  It will need to be someone with experience in elected office, especially at a federal level.  It will almost certainly need to be a non-white candidate, given the current political climate and Democrats' recognition that they need tickets that reflect the demographic diversity of the party.  And it will likely be a boring, moderate choice, given Biden's own personal inclinations and instincts.

Add all that up, and you get Kamala Harris.  It's going to be Harris.

I am not demanding anyone. Just because these people are fools don't put me in their category.

But to say someone (who is white) is the "black" choice by silencing the voices of a majority of blacks is just racist.

That's great, but as we learned in 2016, getting the most votes doesn't matter.  Winning the majority of EVs is what matters.  Whitmer should seal up MI, cutting off most feasible paths for Trump.

Throw in the chance of swinging WI, and that's game over, man.

Given that a Biden administration stands to inherit a full-on farking big-d Depression, I should think Biden, infamously the former "Senator from MBNA" who is almost singlehandedly responsible for the creating the student loan crisis and semipermanent debt peonage for young folks, might benefit a great deal from someone with real expertise in education, economics, and law, with sound plans on how to reform and leverage the government to help regular folks.

Yes indeed, Warren would be the sensible choice.

I hope Biden is this smart...but I've been given little reason to believe he is.

I hear Tulsi's free.

I'm not saying that, black voters are. They are the ones that were polled. I simply shared a couple of polls. If you don't agree that's fine but don't come after me because of what they found.

Any article that ignores the electoral college is stupid.

take the 2016 map as your starting point. I think Biden picks up Pennsylvania. That leaved Trump with 286. Where do you get another 17  ec votes?

Not Florida. GOP runs the state apparatus, we've seen how that goes. Same with Ohio.

The only path I see is to pick up both Michigan and Wisconsin. Both have Dem governors.

Whitmer gets you 16 votes. Pick up Michigan and any other state and you're good.  Arizona is also a possibility, as Kelly is steamrolling McSally.
