/have seen it a few times, but that's almost a half century of watching ballgames and this week in baseball and espn and yadda

I've been watching baseball for a very long time, and I can't ever remember seeing someone miss a fly ball at night by 20 farking yards.


I saw it happen a couple of weeks ago. I don't remember who it was, but the Cubs were batting in the early innings of a night game. Fly ball to right-center, the center-fielder completely lost the path and wasn't even close to where it landed. I think there was a runner on base, because he didn't tip off that he lost it by calling for help from the right-fielder.
