Carries the banner for Wall Street led moderates and would keep progressives off the ballot for at least the next two Presidential cycles.

If The Hill is pushing her, you know she's the worst choice.

Why subby should eat a bowl of dicks.

She'd be a solid choice, given that her candidacy was more or less an anti-corruption platform so that balances out Biden's biggest weakness policy-wise.

That said, these articles are farking useless.  We'll have the actual answer in like two farking days, the time to speculate on this was a farking month ago.

They need her to help deliver CA. The dems must really be hurting.

I want her to become VP simply because the "Who you gonna call when the rapists break into your house HUH?" folks will have to pivot to "OH NO SHE'S A COP."

I'd like to see if it's possible to die of whiplash. I am a bad person.

The Lincoln project is already doing that for them.

Since she is a Senator she will technically be presiding over the Senate so close votes will be a factor. That would make for quite the circus when Cocaine Mitch keeps stalling every single bill from Congress. But that leaves California with one Senator who is as Republican as a Democrat can ever be -- rich, white, very old, out of touch and holding a grudge against poor people. Dianne Feinstein has been a miserable Senator for California. I'd rather not have her being our one voice there.

/ I honestly don't know why she doesn't caucus with the Log Cabin Republicans -- they quite literally share the same views.

I want her just because it will give Maya Rudolph job security for at least the next four years

Yeah that's exactly what the polling is showing, the battleground has shifted so far in Trump's favor that formerly safe states like CA are now up for grabs, let me just go double check that before posting...

...huh look at that, seems like I was wrong and it's actually the opposite, the battleground states are now places like Texas, north carolina, and Georgia. Weird how none of those places have democratic senators for Joe to add to the ticket. I'm sure you had a point though.

I don't know that that would be a consideration. Newsom would undoubtedly appoint a Democrat as her replacement, and I doubt a Republican would come even close to beating them in a special election.

The bigger issue is taking up a running mate who has shown herself to be rather police-friendly in a race where there are major movements towards reforming, defunding, and even abolishing the police.  If Biden is looking for someone who can unify the progressive wing of the party with his coalition, Kamala ain't it.
