I just stick mine in a covered casserole dish and put it in the oven at 170F for an hour.

I wonder how the heat would affect things like elastic?  Otherwise this is good.

So if the virus dies on surfaces in 3 days why not just have 4 masks you wear in rotation?

We're wearing masks because of a virus. But the mask can also become a breeding ground for bacteria.

But yeah, if you're working a hospital or perhaps a service job where you're in contact with different people all day, this is useful.

Everyone else? Ignore this. You don't need to cook your masks. I pretty much have 2 masks. 1 in the car for my once a week excursion for food, and 1 in the house if someone comes to the door or cases like tomorrow we have a plumber coming.

Both get use at most once a week. The elastic wears out long before they get enough use to justify cleaning.

I work in food service, which, in a way is the ref-headed step kid to the medical field, in that sanitation and proper procedures are essential to keeping people healthy. So u have a set exclusively for work and a set for shopping and such.

Yes. This is a virus,  but having it up against you face causes other bacteria to grow on it.  You wash your clothes, right?  You can't really throw n95 masks in the washing machine.
