Fark Georgia?  Ok, even though the majority are against this, and are only not represented because of voter suppression, let's go ahead and burn down the plantation and fields while the slaves are still trapped, instead of trying to rescue the slaves and drive off the overseers and slavemasters.

People living in Georgia are still trying to overturn this minority power-grab over the majority, but they also have to contend with the "burn the whole thing down because working or fighting hard and long has never been my thing and I hate you for doing that too!" crowd.

Authoritarians like to say authoritarianism is good because they get things done and preserve public order.  The actual history of authoritarian government shows they are terrifically incompetent at everything except suppressing dissent.  (No, Mussolini did not make the trains run on time.)

Having visited Atlanta, I think Georgia is worth saving. It's a shame the city is stuck in such a derp state though. Similar situation with Nola except Atlanta is a relatively well run city.

From the article: But if Kemp's concerns lie with the safety of the state's children and the importance of getting them back in the classroom, why didn't he do more to stop the spread of the virus? Why, instead, did he prioritize sending low-wage workers back to their jobs in bars, restaurants, nail salons, and gyms?

To kill Black people.

What the fark are you even talking about? Have you ever been here lately?

The metro Atlanta population is like 6 times as high as it was when I was a kid (or more) and growing constantly, and the backwoods/mountain/middle of nowhere population has been steadily declining. There's huge swaths of blue across the political landscape and a *giant* one around Atlanta. Newt Gingrich's House seat(which was later Tom Price's) is now filled literally by Black Lives Matter in the form of Jordan Davis's mother. That's exactly the opposite trend of whatever the hell you just said.

We're trying to change it from within cause you can't change it from outside the state. Lots of good Democrats in the state trying to overcome voter suppression.  Republicans keep doing bad things for the people and making the case for change.

I live in Rome, right next door to the Squidbillies. Sure I want Georgia to be Blue, and Rome is well, Rome and still believes the Old Guard (their parents) it has improved a bit but the Trumpers in the sticks and town like it this way, it usually 70-30 in the red here. Yes there are a good many here Blue just not enough yet. Been here 30 years trying and will continue, but I'm melting and that is not helping, I just said farking asshole loud enough in Kroger to some Trump hat wearing, he turned and said what, I gave him the finger and kept shopping, many of these morons carry and I should not be so loud.

Every election, is this may be it, and this election is no different, but that much more critical. Georgia may go bankrupt if Trump wins.

Look, Georgia is basically a warzone for cultural change right now. Nobody is trying to flip, say, Boston, and as a result sensible precautions are being taken. But Tyler Perry didn't need to drop a crapton of money investing in Boston for change. The Repugs aren't spending money fighting in blue states. The problem with warzones is that they will see people killed. And that's where we're at, fighting to get rid of the bullshiat that conservative thought has weighted us down with for generations. It won't happen quickly. It won't be easy. But it is happening. Vote blue, ffs.

Stepbro always had some pretty nasty racist impulses. Of course, he's very happy in Georgia.

As for Kemp, a couple of years ago after church, we were having lunch at Schlotsky's and there he was. I resisted the urge to tell him that, as a computer person, we know you're either up to mischief or letting it happen. I wish I hadn't.

I live in Georgia, a goddamned Yankee, just can't seem to get out yet. Met many great people, most are like family. But, there are far too many farkheads that really do believe that their racism is not racism, they're clueless. I've met too many teachers that believe the Sun goes around the Earth and that the Earth does not tilt on it's axis, these are certified teachers in all grade levels, and I've met many teachers quit and move out of State and others that just took early retirement because of the bullsh*t and funding cuts. Georgia is a 3rd world State for the US, yes, it is very much worth changing to Blue, but the majority here are actually too damn stupid to vote for their best interest, and they think Jesus is watching them vote.

Stop the coup vote Blue.
