"up to" $12. Whoot.

Hey its $12 more than I have now...

2020-08-08 9:44:01 AM
I don't think I was dumb enough to give them any information but it seems like a lot of trouble to prove for $12. I guess that's what they're counting on.

$12! I no longer need worry about my partial furlough! Thank you for breaching my privacy again, Google!

For as much as we're told all this personal information is worth if it gets into the...fingers?...of the wrong person on the internet, I'm a bit dismayed that it's really only $12.

/well, it's a pack of smokes I didnt have before...

For $12 they continue to datamine information about you. That's pretty cheap for them.

No, but the wife and I both received their warning that they're killing Play Music to merge that purpose in with youtube.  So now I'm looking for an alternative, because I despise the youtube platform and just wanted a simple music service that was Songza before google bought it out.

Just because I laughed at some pop band's video on youtube doesn't mean I want them showing up all over my music recommendations, and vice versa I don't GAF about most band's youtube streams or anything but their music.

But it ain't spectacular....

I say we take them on w/ individual lawsuits! Surely our group will net $12 on average, and lawyers still won't make money!

/sarcasm aside, realize that we can skip a lot of these class action lawsuits if we... let me think of the word... ah yes - 'regulate'

Exactly... Class actions are a joke. Look at the LiveNation one, it was a deal for free concert tickets, but a selection of concerts nobody wanted to see, or you could get a whole $1.50 off of a future purchase.

The only one that was really worthwhile was the Amazon eBook price fixing one, I think I got like $30 out of that, and used it for discounted titles, so I did pretty well. The only reason it really even paid out well is that it was both Amazon and Barnes & Noble who had to pay out, and they did it separately, rather than as a single bundle, so I really got paid twice.

I'll complete that form only if it includes a Guinness bar-towel.

I return every class action piece of nail I receive.  My biggest get was $75, the smallest was $0.32.

I got this email, yet, I'm not reply to it.  Even after it's verification it feels fishy.

There was some Sony DRAM one earlier in the century I got about $50 from.

Also got a couple free games from Sony for 2011 PSN hack. Probably about $30 or $40 market value.

Really?! Goddamned google.

I use google play music for podcasts. They used to have some dedicated podcast service, Reader or something, that was merged into Play Music and then dropped.

Lol.  They have Google Podcasts now and are soon dropping Google Play.  Naturally, last I checked, Google Podcasts is not available on... ANDROID AUTO.

Sounds like what you need is simply an MP3 player. You put the songs on it you want and don't get anything recommended to you since you are just playing the files that you own and liked enough to put on the player.

Before you start "streaming this and that" just ask yourself why do I need something to stream music. Any vehicle built in the last 10 years should have bluetooth. You have your music on your phone like an MP3 player and just connect it to the devices you want to listen to it on. I got a 500w 5.1 receiver at wal-mart on clearance for $49 and it has bluetooth.

If you have music you like and that's what you listen to you don't need anything beyond your mp3 files. If you do want to discover new music then please STFU about being recommended songs you don't like. That is part of finding things you do like. Deal with it.

I will miss the music store as it let you download full albums in MP3 format once purchased.  Just be sure to make back ups as you can only download them fully twice.

Because I do enjoy encountering new stuff based on my MUSICAL choices, but they're integrating youtube video history into things as well.  Just because I clicked on a fark-linked video to that guy with the pen and the apple one time doesn't mean I want to get hit up with the whole ecosystem of music surrounding that novelty act.  Which is what they're doing.

I also have no interest in keeping track of or organizing MP3 files and one-shot purchasing music anymore, those days of 'owning' music files are gone and I'll happily trade them for access to the world's catalog of music.  Heck I rarely even know what band or song I'm listening to unless I particularly like it enough to give it a thumbs up to encourage more of that.  But damned if that click on someone sharing The Best of Nickelback in one video means weeks of youtube music trying to feed me actual Nickelback content, get me?

I just don't want my youtube watching history and music history to intertwine like they're intending.  They're trying to force engagement on youtube like twitch etc does, and I don't GAF about any of that when it comes to playing some tunes in the background of whatever I'm doing.

The only decent class action they I benefited from was 20 years ago. I didn't even know about it. My bank at the time was dinged for ridiculous fees and, as an account holder, I received a letter and a check for $45.00.

The only class action lawsuit I was part of was the PNC Bank overdraft fee bullshiat.  I got a about $125 out of that.

My account was originally with 2nd National Bank which became Commerce National, then National City and then finally PNC.  I wisely joined USAA immediately after that.

This post is brought to you by Navy Federal because I'm thinking of switching over.

It's almost as if they can and should be seeking non-partisan, non-industrial-whore expert advice.  But there's quite the incentive to not do that because TAH DAH moneyed interests rule our land.

It may be the best thing to happen to Pandora in ages. Only one of my stations copied over. I've been using it for that and to make my MP3s available to various devices.

Ok so they leaked my personal info because of bad security... now in order to send me some restitution i need to send them my bank info... which they will store with that very same level of security.

Yeah, no thanks! You can keep your twelve bucks.
