Basketball's biggest star on the planet is LeBron James, who is also, of course, a minority stakeholder in LFC-and he's sponsored by Nike, with a deal said to be worth over $1 billion across the course of his lifetime.

Call me crazy, but I think that was a bigger factor in LeBron sporting an Lfarkit than the fact they are now manufactured by Nike.

James bought a 2% ownership in Liverpool in 2011.  Among his other amazing feats, Lebron James was also named Time Magazine's Person of the Year in 2006.

/his stock value went from about $17 million to $43 million over 8 years.  Not bad.
