People having rampant sex in the streets.

Lingering fun from Isaiah? SW CT here, lost power midday Tuesday, got it back kids midday yesterday.  As of last night, some neighbors on smaller side streets were still in the dark.

Ended up ordering a smaller inverter generator.  Just enough to power the fridge, a few fans, and maybe a TV.

Fairfield County CT here. Power came back yesterday. Internet today. Bloody generator refused to start, but our neighbor allowed us to tap into theirs.

Off-topic, but the practice of using JavaScript to load images which which are a part of the article and should therefore be loaded using <img> tags should f#ckin' die

/ FFS, it's not lazy-loading if it requires more computational power than just loading the image - leave resource management to the browser...

Goddammit, Zuul, you're booked for October 2020, not August. You're *after* September's radiation rats.

I'm just confused that the power outage is as widespread as it is - I was told that the monsters were only due on Maple Street...

Well this explains why my microwave was blinking 12:00 and why my computer was off when I got up this morning. Oh, and all the smart bulbs had turned on. It's also possible I deduced we lost power before seeing this headline but that's giving me a little too much credit.

It's not polite to call cops rats. Well I guess unless they're forcing people to have sex in the street with them.

Lost power in NH for four hours after the hurricane blew through.  I had done my monthly shopping the day before, and was worried I'd lose the fifty dollars of meat in the freezer.  Some big old pine trees fell at the end of my road.  When they widened the road 20 years ago, they cut a ditch along side some big old pine trees.  They're finally toppling over: this is the second time this year that a few of those trees have taken out power.

Well, tropical storm remnants blew through, to be more accurate.

Maybe Spike Lee will make a poorly made, overly long, and badly researched movie about it.

Aaahhhh.....ConEd.....a few weeks ago they were claiming to be "upgrading the power grid", per a spokesperson on WPIX morning news.....huh....I remember hearing that phrase, as a kid-decades ago. Decades. For what folks pay in taxes, you'd think there would not be even a flicker of a light bulb in the state of New York.

See what smarter Farkers say about generator size-I'd certainly go large. 'Cause-ConEd, and you never know how long it could take for the power to go back on, and stay on. Grew up in Westchester, could be out of power for close to a week. Summer not so bad-Winter was challenging, until a Jotul/Lange wood burning stove was put in. Wow. That was great.

Probably not world news but certainly national news.  Just like all the other power outages that were reported in the news over the last 4 days.

For Wilma I was without power for 10 days.

Even on day 6 you turn on the shower and stick your hand in the stream in some inane hope it will get warm.

I was out for a couple weeks after Sandy. After two or three November groundwater showers, I started heating a pan of water on the grill and spongebathing.

Hey...I'm not judging, but here in the Midwest we have been led to believe meat prices are higher in your area.
Of course, we have also been led to believe that the gov't keeps kids in cages, so if you're getting a break on meat prices...well...

Hey. You be you, ok..?

I thought all New Yorkers with chronic medical conditions were honor bound to cash out and move into Florida mobile home communities?

I thought about it, really don't need a large one.  I'm back on the main road I grew up on, and in 30+ years the longest I've ever seen power out hereis 3, maybe 4 days.  It's fine, trust me.

Big underground transformer blew an took out the power on my street for most of a day before they fixed it.

Also cut off the Tesla super-charger station (interstate highway exchange).   The howls and oaths form the Tesla drivers were remarkable
