(Twitter)   While most movies are delaying their releases later and later, Bill & Ted time travel to a week earlier for their latest movie. Excellent   (twitter.com) divider line

I've randomly popped off 'San Dimas high school football rules!' enough that I feel I owe this movie a watch. I'm looking forward to it.

Sadly 69 is a week earlier than this, and the original date, 8/21/2020

It seems Bill & Ted had a bigger cultural impact on me growing up than it did on most people.  This release is of Star Wars/Marvel "must see opening night and do not disturb" importance.

It reminds us of our carefree youth.  Hopefully it won't be sad.

My only fear is that it'll be like a lot of later reboots. Bill and Ted open the movie and something happens to negate them and Death within the first 15 minutes. Then the rest of the movie is their kids and the "look at how cool these new characters that never make mistakes are" Then Bill/Ted come back at the end only to watch the retcon that they weren't the ones who changed humanity but the new group that we should watch in an upcoming trilogy is. Basically, like they almost did to Thundergun.

I mean given it is Reeves, I doubt they'd sideline like that, just a little gunshy. In this case, because it is daughters not sons in the "pass the torch" role, I fear how awful the internet would be on it. Mind you, I'm hopeful to be completely wrong and it be a good family story (like Deadpool 2) where everyone comes together well and I'm fricking ready for some damn irrelevant humor. Just been burned a few times by the couple decades later reboot format.
