Yeah, best we have managed in my family, so far, is a baseball game that left a 20' crater.  It seems my great-uncles, Smoke and Boomer, "lost" a stick of dynamite a few years prior.  It was found by a baseball hit by my older brother that went out of the park built at the family camp and impacted the wall of the old storage shed with enough force to set off the crystals that had formed on the dynamite.

Howdy all, got my new glasses today and it is nice to not squint at signs anymore. Brother's birthday is today, going to go drink with the family at his old favorite dive bar in Golden, the Ace Hi.

In a huge, wide open expanse with noone else or any property around?

In that particular circumstance, yeah, if you can beat a 3.3 on the Richter Scale, you win.

Otherwise, maybe sit it out for a bit, get some rest.

The possibly good news: as ski9600 pointed out, premade brake lines can be had. The line in question is 18in, and the local parts place has 20in, which ought to do the trick without my having to become a flaring virtuoso.

I accounted for length, diameter (3/16), flare type (double = "inverted") and material (ss coated in pvf). Went to store after finding exact part number (and "in-stock"). Oops, they don't have it. But here's an equivalent.

Apparently there is yet ANOTHER variable, viz., metric vs SAE threads. Guy behind the counter assures me they are all like that. Get home, nope. Grr.

I watched "The Speed Cubers" this afternoon, because I had time to kill between webex meetings and thought maybe it might have some helpful advice to get to 1:00 on a 3 x 3.

Nope, instead it is a really touching documentary about a world champion Rubiks Cube solver who befriended and became the biggest champion for an autistic champion.

Would recommend.

I swear, netflix doesn't pay me for this. I could spend much more time talking about things I don't like.

So nothing was missing from my car which is a plus.  As far as I can tell someone just threw a big rock through the passenger side window.  Ironically, if the car worked well enough to drive to work it wouldn't have been there.

There's a flaw in your logic. Or at least some math to be figured out.

"leaves a 400' crater, before I die..."

So it couldn't just be practically instantaneous death from the device itself. 400' craters don't just form during a blast event. Earth (landmass) moves a lot slower than things on the surface. That would be at least a few seconds after.

To live by the time that crater forms, you are probably well outside of the blast radius.

This might actually pass court muster, unlike the Florida version.
It keeps murders from voting, but doesn't require felons to have paid their full restitution.

So I ordered all the stuff for my roof from Home Depot and they canceled it 20 minutes later. No explanation, no nothing. But they didn't charge me for it and tie up my money for 3 - 5 business days like last time.

And I'm coming down with something - itchy, sneezy runny nose and headache on top of the TMJ pain. I feel like crap, no energy at all. Probably just mountain cedar allergy.

*knocks on wood*

Gonna take a garden hose shower and hope it helps some.
