Why would such a thing ever have been NOT legal?! If we're going to take our economic ball and go home to be a bunch of racist plague rats sniping at each other while the rest of the world moves on without us, the least we could do is have some goddamned 40-proof maple bourbon Ben n Jerrys.

New York City once tried to ban large sodas.  I wouldn't be surprised if ice cream is one day considered a controlled substance up there, with booze or not.
