freidog: The judge denied a motion to reduce Clark's bond. He remains in jail with bond set at $725,000.

He's 17.  He'd have trouble fleeing the country even if he weren't under arrest.
Ban him from using internet-connected devices for anything other than phone calls/court business, freeze any accounts he transferred money to and be done with it.
Bail is so incredibly stupid in this country.

Funny thing about the judge is she sits there and hears all the facts.  You don't.

The kid had previously stolen almost a million dollars (1.8 million today) in bitcoin when he was 15.  The FBI caught him and recovered half the bitcoins but not all of them.  They also didn't charge him because of his age.  So he has about 500k-1million in money secreted away.  He also has no parental oversight.  He was living by himself in a swanky apartment.  And he believes that he can get away with these crimes.  He's a 17 year old with a secret bank account and not one single tie to the community.  For him it makes all the sense in the world to abscond to belize and tell the US to go fark itself.

I'd say bail makes sense here.
