I've seen a Trump ad in a mobile game.

When the President of the United States is putting himself on the same level as a USB ear wax removal system, you really begin to understand his marketing genius, and his record of business success.

The Lincoln Project exists because they are old guard R's that are shut out of the power levers of the current admin.  They are ousting Trump to say to the GOP "see we know what is best" so they can grab back the power after Trump is gone.  They aren't the Democrats friends.

Glorious Golden Ass: I'm still very worried about how stupid people are.  The ghost of Bernie Sanders or I'm-not-voting is still possessing a few friends.  Apparently, there is a video going around implying Joe Biden is a child molester because he sometimes touches children standing in front of him on their shoulders when posing for pictures.

Biden got "handsy" with some women. If they had been children or teens, I'd be the first to dismiss him. And I primaried for Warren, so you know I wouldn't miss him.

Women who can afford to be close enough for a senator to get handsy with, are folks I don't know. I can't afford to attend political fundraisers, and the two rallies I've been to, (both for Obama) I was so far away from the brotha that it didn't matter anyway.

I believe the women, sure. And there are women who think they can't support someone they don't know personally, but dislike, because he apparently got to smell a privileged woman's hair. Okay, you do you.

Trump had got to go. If voting for Biden is the "lesser of two evils" then please, feel free to pick "the lesser of two evils." We have no other viable candidates. But some people still insist on believing that their ideology counts more than actual reality.

I'm so tired of trying to convince those on the fence that this is truly a matter of life or death for millions of people. That just because you "got it good" now, doesn't mean it will be that way tomorrow, especially during an farking pandemic.

But I guess fence sitters will be fence sitters. Purists will be purists. Do whatever the fark you want. I'm tired of caring about it.

I haven't seen a remotely effective Trump campaign ad in a year they're all just replays of the greatest hits from 2016 but the world is different now. And Hillary Clinton is no longer running against him.

I think it's actually more important for Democrats to financially support Senate candidates because Biden is definitely going to win

I think we need to support both, because there are no guarantees in politics. Plus, if we get more voters to the polls to vote for Uncle Joe, then statistically the Democratic Party Senate candidates will do better in their races.

But money doesn't really get people to the polls does it?

It's not like you see an ad on TV and think, well NOW i am really going to go vote!!!

Yes. Yes it does. The more you keep nudging the more people you can move. So by being able to have more volunteers, which require more "back of house" support, and more front of house ad buying, you keep reminding people. The goal is end up with a core of regular voters. That takes money. Lots and lots of money.

No.  I'm tired of hearing about Donald Trump.  Let the Lincoln Project talk about him all they want, they don't have a candidate, they don't have a platform, and they don't have solutions.  What I want to hear from Biden is what he's going to do to make things better.

You know why Trump won in 2016?  He controlled the narrative and focused that narrative on himself.  MAGA was a point of positive inspiration for people.  If Biden talks about Trump in 2020, that allows Trump to continue to control the narrative and have that narrative be about Trump.  Biden needs to talk about himself, and what he's going to do for the USA and the world.

Controlling the narrative and making it be about yourself is how you win elections.  It's how Obama won in 2008.    People felt inspired by Obama's campaign and his promises for America.  It's how Bush won in 2000.  All Gore did was try to point out how stupid Bush was, while Bush focused on Bush.  It's how Clinton won in 1992.  On and on and on.  Sure, have your camp run some sock puppet campaigns to push negative ads at your competitor.  But in the end, a successful campaign has to stand for something, it can't just be negative.

I'm tired of hearing about Trump.  Let's change the narrative and talk about things that inspire us and make the world a better place.

Getting rid of Trump is not inspiring and does not make the world a better place?

How'd that work for Kerry in 2004 with GWB?

I must have missheard all those chants of Lock her Up. That's what inspired Trump supporters. Sticking it to the libs was all Trump supporters cared about. And of course we have to talk about Trump all the time, his incompetence led to 160,000 American dead and rising. ...

The Lock Her Up stuff was a side-show.  It was effective, but it amplified the pro-Trump, MAGA message, it didn't stand on its own.  I'm not saying that Biden's campaign can't throw some negative shade, I'm saying that they need to figure out what Biden stands for and make sure everyone knows about it.  History is littered with failed candidates whose only message was being against the incumbent.  Clinton and Reagan are the only ones in my lifetime who figured this out (and I wouldn't waste time to piss on Reagan's grave).

This - they lie to the pollsters and then go into the secrecy of the voting booth and vote racist. They do it every time, and they are going to do it again in 2020.

It means more to them than life itself.

Prior to 2016, I would have bet we were closer to post-racial than racial, but 2016 abused me of that notion.

But I was assured that Obama getting elected meant racism was over!!

Hillary didn't understand their dig-in-their-heels psychology.  And The Lincoln Project does understand Trump's psychology.

She could have won a fair number of them over if she'd just cast it like this:

"We all have dark spots inside us, we all succumb to temptation, we all sin.  I taught Sunday school for many years, I know that I've sinned, and I tried to help my students to be better Christians.  I want to inspire Americans to overcome those personal demons, to aspire to do great things, to care for our neighbors.  I know that anyone can make mistakes, seek forgiveness, and become a better person.  My opponent doesn't want that - he wants Americans to indulge those urges; to be spiteful, and jealous, and cruel.  That's the difference between us."
