Rapmaster2000: Biden will murder your children!

If everyone is still home-schooling in November, this might make a surprisingly popular campaign promise.

The Irresponsible Captain: OldRod: Maybe Trump needs to stop funneling all his campaign money to his family and his hotels... just a thought

Nah, I'm good with him making his own situation worse.

Seconded.  I want him and his grifter spawn to drain the RNC coffers.

Bloombergs money will be better spent getting people registered to vote and senate / house / state elections.

Glorious Golden Ass: I'm still very worried about how stupid people are. The ghost of Bernie Sanders or I'm-not-voting is still possessing a few friends.  Apparently, there is a video going around implying Joe Biden is a child molester because he sometimes touches children standing in front of him on their shoulders when posing for pictures.

I am primarily only worried about how racist people are.  Specifically how worried white folks are that they are not going to be completely in charge of everything everywhere.
Prior to 2016, I would have bet we were closer to post-racial than racial, but 2016 abused me of that notion.

If you ask Bloomberg it'd be best used to earn him another $10,000,000 at 1% interest over one year.

I can't imagine anybody still all in on Trump is suddenly going to be swayed by a Biden ad now. Trump has proven he's a thoroughly unqualified idiot just by being Trump if that doesn't convince you nothing will. What is going to win this for Biden is if enough of the people that voted for Trump just for a joke or out of anger decide that maybe that wasn't such a great idea.

The Lincoln Project exists because they are old guard R's that are shut out of the power levers of the current admin.  They are ousting Trump to say to the GOP "see we know what is best" so they can grab back the power after Trump is gone.  They aren't the Democrats friends.

Trump is the best ad for the importance of voting. It's crazy how many people think voting doesn't matter and that the system just keeps moving and nothing much changes. With a responsible and sane person in charge that is true and right or left nothing much does change. Toss somebody into office that doesn't care about the job and suddenly  you have 160,000 people dead from a plague and the federal government is extorting tech companies and shaking down NATO members for "protection" money.

That always really hit home, the fact they embraced the moniker and did everything they could to live up to it.

Nope, I'm good with him stealing from his own campaign. It has the added bonus of affecting down ticket races. there was an article a few weeks back about house GOP wanting money, they were told to pound sand. Less money for them is a good thing overall.

I suspect that as the election is closer, the trump crime syndicate will siphon more money from the GOP, potentially affecting the Senate races.

I really want to see how the GOP will deal with this after the election, with they bury trump with an internal review of spending or sweep it under the carpet an hope no one notices.

/I'm hoping for GOP infighting in the aftermath.

Or, to put it another way, it is not a matter of being a Trump supporter or intelligence (although, those are secondary correlations), but a causal matter of being racist.

"We look forward to the Biden ad that brags about surrendering his entire agenda to socialists Bernie Sanders and AOC," Murtaugh said, referring to Biden's recent policy work with Sanders, his former 2020 primary rival, and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez."

This would be revelatory to a few Farkers that like to post here. You'd swear, according to those posts, that Biden was the second coming of Jesse Helms.

While that's true, historically it's the incumbent who should have the edge in fundraising.  That Trump is doing so poorly now looks terrible for the campaign.  It means his one-time backers aren't going to waste money on a loser.

No.  I'm tired of hearing about Donald Trump.  Let the Lincoln Project talk about him all they want, they don't have a candidate, they don't have a platform, and they don't have solutions.  What I want to hear from Biden is what he's going to do to make things better.

You know why Trump won in 2016?  He controlled the narrative and focused that narrative on himself.  MAGA was a point of positive inspiration for people.  If Biden talks about Trump in 2020, that allows Trump to continue to control the narrative and have that narrative be about Trump.  Biden needs to talk about himself, and what he's going to do for the USA and the world.

Controlling the narrative and making it be about yourself is how you win elections.  It's how Obama won in 2008.    People felt inspired by Obama's campaign and his promises for America.  It's how Bush won in 2000.  All Gore did was try to point out how stupid Bush was, while Bush focused on Bush.  It's how Clinton won in 1992.  On and on and on.  Sure, have your camp run some sock puppet campaigns to push negative ads at your competitor.  But in the end, a successful campaign has to stand for something, it can't just be negative.

I'm tired of hearing about Trump.  Let's change the narrative and talk about things that inspire us and make the world a better place.

Hillary didn't understand their dig-in-their-heels psychology.  And The Lincoln Project does understand Trump's psychology.

She could have won a fair number of them over if she'd just cast it like this:

"We all have dark spots inside us, we all succumb to temptation, we all sin.  I taught Sunday school for many years, I know that I've sinned, and I tried to help my students to be better Christians.  I want to inspire Americans to overcome those personal demons, to aspire to do great things, to care for our neighbors.  I know that anyone can make mistakes, seek forgiveness, and become a better person.  My opponent doesn't want that - he wants Americans to indulge those urges; to be spiteful, and jealous, and cruel.  That's the difference between us."

You think the people who  cheered when the pompous reality show host called immigrants rapists would have been swayed by a round of kumbaya?

Keerist. She needed a messaging strategy.  She needed an elevator pitch that someone who flunked high school civics could grasp.

I must have missheard all those chants of Lock her Up. That's what inspired Trump supporters. Sticking it to the libs was all Trump supporters cared about. And of course we have to talk about Trump all the time, his incompetence led to 160,000 American dead and rising.  Even Bush jr hadn't killed a fraction of that by 2004.

Getting rid of Trump is not inspiring and does not make the world a better place?

How'd that work for Kerry in 2004 with GWB?

So, no? Getting rid of Trump does not inspire you?

What else is it going to take?

Hey, I'm voting for Biden, but my vote doesn't mean anything compared to the throngs of people who are afraid of change and want easy choices.

I must have missheard all those chants of Lock her Up. That's what inspired Trump supporters. Sticking it to the libs was all Trump supporters cared about. And of course we have to talk about Trump all the time, his incompetence led to 160,000 American dead and rising. ...

The Lock Her Up stuff was a side-show.  It was effective, but it amplified the pro-Trump, MAGA message, it didn't stand on its own.  I'm not saying that Biden's campaign can't throw some negative shade, I'm saying that they need to figure out what Biden stands for and make sure everyone knows about it.  History is littered with failed candidates whose only message was being against the incumbent.  Clinton and Reagan are the only ones in my lifetime who figured this out (and I wouldn't waste time to piss on Reagan's grave).

Hey, anti-trump is good enough for me...heck anti-re-publican is good enough for me right now.

shastacola: koinbahd: ElwoodCuse: The Lincoln Project doesn't exist to convince Republicans not to vote for Trump, it exists to convince gullible centrists that they aren't

It sure as hell works on Fark

The Lincoln Project exists because they are old guard R's that are shut out of the power levers of the current admin.  They are ousting Trump to say to the GOP "see we know what is best" so they can grab back the power after Trump is gone.  They aren't the Democrats friends.

Who cares? Does anyone really believe that we're going to have a country without conservatives at some point?  So they're trying to wrestle control from the loony tune right, I'm OK with that as I don't expect conservative republicans to disappear into the ether.

They're only same by comparison with Trump.  They're fundamentally no different from what passed for mainstream Republicans around 2012.

We have a common enemy.  That's it.

I dunno, The Lincoln Project is pretty much doing the job already, and they're making Donnie buy up ads in DC just so that he can self soothe.

/For the record, Donnie: you'll never carry DC in the election.

I don't trust the Lincoln Project's motivation, but I am willing to take advantage of them.

This times a billion.  All the people on Fark who are so concerned that we're all going to start trusting the Lincoln Project people after a Biden victory are getting very tiresome.

The concern is a way to distract from TLP's messaging.

Attention: Anyone still using this tired defense, Trump is now the incumbent and everyone knows how he would act as president.

A whole lot of THIS. Remember that the favorite whine of those who voted for him after he "won" was "Give this guy a chance!" while ignoring over 40 years of shat he had done and said before. Welp, they won't have that shat card to pull anymore because he's been given that chance and f'ked it all the way up.

He's no longer a "neophyte" - as if a Trumper would know what that word meant - nor is he no longer "just a bidnissmann". He's a politician, so they won't be able to pull the "we hates politicians" card either. We know exactly what he would do in office because he has been showing his orange ass for nearly four years now behind the resolute desk and his the wheel of his golf cart and we want no more of it.

He and his whole grifter family have got to GTFO of the People's House.

Perhaps the Founding Fathers never imagined elections between two people well beyond the then normal lifespan, spending enough money to run a small country, while the electorate is subconsciously focusing on the VP picks because the main contenders are people you wouldn't let drive your kids to the park.

Must be over 35?

Maybe must be under a certain age too.

but Trump still gets that sweet, sweet free advertising from the media who can't stop paying attention to him

Well, this go-round at least they have an excuse given that he's the President. Partially because of them (the media)

It barely matters when media coverage has given my fellow liberal friends (most of them) and family (a few of them) the impression that Biden's not bothering to campaign, because they so rarely hear anything about him.

I mean he's still got a pretty good shot at beating Trump just because Trump's terrible, but even so. The media are again on Trump's side by giving him so much coverage and, though they've gotten slightly more bold, still not treating him as poorly as they should someone who tells obvious lies more often than he tells the truth.

But.... removing Trump from office will automatically make the world a better place.
