must be nice to get test results in only a few days*.

how hard it may be to have food delivered to your house instead of enjoying a stroll thru the aisles with the common folk akin to that production of King Lear(?) you helped with in college.

this will not play well.

/my state average is 10 days.
//apparently someone never played fantasy football if she is pissed at an injury report.

Based on her complaints, I'm guessing she sees no personal responsibility in self quarantining if they think the family is sick? Maybe get shiat delivered for a couple of weeks?

It sucks he got a false positive and had to....do what everyone else is doing, but most people can't even get a test in a day, if they can get one at all.

Piss off, Stanfords.

In her defense her medical conditions might have something to do with her reaction, I would suggest that she is in a potentially high risk group.

I have been tested 3 times and had my results within 24 hours each time.

I actually just saw her second comment and it seems she was more upset with the reporting publicly on his testing than the annoyances she went through. I thought she was just moaning about going to the store and getting curbside pickup.

Fine. I apologize, Staffords. Maybe you're ok after all.

Well if you were a parent with young children, recovering from brain surgery to remove a tumor, you'd be well pissed off at a false positive report of a deadly virus.  Oh and don't forget the media hounding you and your family. Her reaction is justified.

I think I'm just jaded and cynical from listening to people complaining about some of the more trivial effects of Covid mitigation and assumed this was another case.

I try to own it when I go off all stupid like that, though, and her update makes it pretty clear that they're responsible and I'm wrong.

Or have emphysema, or COPD, or diabetes, or high blood pressure, or heart disease.  Pro athletes get the best medical treatment on the planet, and while that may not extend to their families, I am finding it extremely difficult to even call what she has a "plight".

Kelly Stafford is going to talk her way out of Detroit. I'm not sure if it's on purpose.

I don't understand why Stafford is still here.  He has enough money.  I'd be opting out of the season and trying to force a trade.  He might actually win something somewhere else.  He already has all of the Lion's records.

Time to spend 5-8 years somewhere else and maybe have your team/coach work with you instead of against you.

Lions should be banned from drafting anyone with potential.  Billy Sims, Herman Moore, Barry Sanders, Matt Stafford - the list of players that could've won championships on almost any other team is painful.

I wonder why this isn't a HIPAA violation. This sucks that all of these players are ID'd if they test positive.

THIS.

See how calm and cool you'd react if your medical history includes a twelve hour surgery to remove a brain tumor, you just gave birth, and then you're told your spouse tested positive for COVID-19.

It seems to be a fine line. When an athlete is missing games or practices, it's noticeable. (and probably affects the line in Las Vegas). So they announce he's on 'the list", which could mean they have the virus or it could mean they were in close contact with someone that has it. The NFL has a policy that actually requires them to list player injuries like "questionable-knee" or "out-concussion". There must be some kind of wording in the contract that allows them to do that.

Did you even read the article?

NFL release info that Stafford it positive.
They quarantine themselves and get retested 3 times..all negative.
They are told that there are "uhh, yea there false positives, sorry about that".
They go about their daily lives like anyone else in these times.
They get accosted because everyone thinks they are positive because the NFL released that info.

Yea, I'd be pissed too. Wonder how prevalent these "false positives" are. Seems like the amount of people who are supposedly "positive" but asymptomatic greatly outnumber the people who are actually sick. How convenient....

2020-08-05 10:05:42 AM
The number of false positives is actually quite high with these tests. The even better part is that once it has been proven that it is a false positive, you remain on the infected list and they continue to call people you have interacted with to inform them they have been in contact with covid

Most likely they signed off on it at some point (probably through the CBA)

HIPAA doesn't mean what you think it means.

2020-08-05 11:12:38 AM
Okay, since there is confusion apparently, HIPAA only covers:

(1) health plans
(2) health care clearinghouses
(3) health care providers

It does not cover: Employers, unions, store clerks, restaurants, the government, Bob from accounting, or basically anyone else.

NFL teams get fined if they don't release health/injury related data about players.

Yes. And I would expect there is language in the CBA allowing release of data from doctors to the teams/the NFL and from teams/the NFL to the public.

I'm fairly certain false positive are high for the antibody tests, not the RNA tests designed to show current infection. Those have a higher false negative.

Poor Matt has only earned $100,200,000 through 2019.  How can anyone expect a family to isolate for a few days on that sort of income?
